The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Good Stuff

Hi Y'all!

It's been action, action, action at where we live. My b-day was November 13th, and I didn't get to write an entry! But it was all good. Mom says I was spoilt! It was a cool birthday. Mom says we should throw a party for all three of us dogs on the girl's birthday. That would be cool! Two parties in one year!

And...yesterday, as I'm sure ALL of you know, was the Turkey Day. I was truly giving thanks. I got far more turkey than mom intended, but I'm perfectly fine with it! Mom says it can make me very sick, but I proved her wrong....teehee.

The agility thing is going perfectly. Mom is very, VERY proud of me and says I'll be ready to trial by spring! I'm going to go with the girls when their next trial comes up, and depending on how I do there without any runs, I'll either start trialing after than or wait a little longer. It'll be great! Agility ROCKS. Sierra will tell you all about her past trial, I'll make her do it. She says it takes long to write about all that.

Anyway, I hope you all got some turkey yesterday...and lots of leftovers for today, tomorrow and beyond! And gravy, mmm, gravy. Gotta love these holidays our hoomans are so fond of! :D

Mum says I'm getting awesome at distance work, and I'm going to my first trial in the spring with Hallie and Sierra! Isn't that awesome??

Agility?

Mum did agility with me yesterday. It was WAAAAY fun! I was all excited, flipping out, running over jumps and up and down the a-frame...mum says she's going to enter me in a show n' go one of these days, or a fun match. I think that would be totally cool, to compete like my sister, Sierra. And Hallie is going to be in her first agility trial in November. Well, what about me?

Mom says she really should put be on a flyball team, too. She told me she can't really see me doing terrier trials/earthdog trials, even though I like to dig. She thinks I would like flyball. I think so too!! It's easier than agility because you don't have to do weave poles. Those are really hard for me. And once I got tangled in the chute and now I'm a little scared of it. Mum says it safe, but what if it tries to eat me again?? Maybe if I jump on top of it, it will be good enough for mum, do you think?

I haven't written in my Diary in a very long time. Just wanted to update all you dawgs! Talk later, k? :D

Awesome day!

It's REALLY hot outside! Or, it is for where we live, mum says. Over 60 degrees!
Me and mum just came in from a spectacular game of fetch. IT was sooo fun. She threw the ball all over the place, and I would bring it back, over and over. Mum says I'm really cute when I play fetch, and that's part of the reason it's so fun. I luv mum.
I got so warm, Mum dumped some cold water on me. It felt incredible! I was panting a lot, and she brought my doggie siblings outside, too. They all got water dumped on them, as well! The IGs didn't mind too much, because they were so hot. Sierra said that it made her feel more energetic.

Yo, dawgs!

Hey, ya'll! I haven't logged on in a looong time: Sierra hogs the computer. I never get a chance!

Mum has started to work with me in agility, and I'm training her really well. I know JUST how to scale that big yellow and blue thing...the a-frame. I think jumping is fun, but not as exciting as climbing so high! And mum says I need a lot of work on the weave poles.

Anyway, just thought I'd update all you fans of mine(aren't I ceeute?). It's getting really warm and mum takes us for TONS of walks. Soon we're gonna start going to the parks!

What fun...

Today I went out and played in the snow with Mum. Sierra came out for a little while and ran around with me, which later she said was fun, but then she got cold and she went inside to sit by the fire with Hallie(who REALLY hates the snow!). I stayed out for longer though, before I got cold. It was fun.

I can't wait for Christmas...I don't know what it is, but Mum says it'll be really fun. She said I've been a good boy this year and that she'll get me an extra special doggie toy along with my other presents because of it. With the strange foster dogs and the puppies, I've been through a lot this year! But it's been fun.

Turkey is my favorite...I think.....

I love food, any kind of meat, I guess, but I like birds the best! Chicken is my favorite, and turkey is right behind it!

Today, like I'm sure lots of doggies are, I've been eating turkey. It's really yummy. Mum told me to be careful though, and not eat too much. She said I could get sick, because turkey is different from chicken. Oh well! At least I still get some.

Mum and me went outside today, too. My sisters hate the snow, but I love it! It's really fun, and Benni loves it too. Mum threw my toy for me this morning and I went charging through the snow. I was going so fast, I could have melted it!
I love snow!

Oh, fun.

Just kidding. *Sigh*

I'm really bored today. Sierra, one of my annoying Iggy sisters, is hogging the hearth in front of the warm thing. Mum calls it a woodstove...whatever that is.

I want to go for a walk in the rain. That would be fun, but Mum says I would be cold and wet and I'd want to go home after a short time. I don't believe her, but oh well. Mum is USUALLY right, so I guess I can trust her.

I tried getting the other dogs to play with me, but they just want to get warm. I called Hallie a wuss and she got mad at me. Then Sierra attacked me for calling Hallie a name. We got in an argument, and Mum told us to stop. Oh well, I guess that didn't work out. But then Mum played tug with me instead, which was much more fun. I love Mum. She's my favorite...way above the other dogs. She can't stay mad at me when I do something bad, she says, because I'm too cute. Teehee.

Haha...not funny.

Today, lots of people, strange people, mind you, came to MY house and invaded MY territory. But, I have to say, it was fun. I got to stay with everyone because I behaved myself, Mum said, and she said that if I was like that all the time, I'd be a perfect doggie. Mum said to her I'm a perfect doggie, but to other people I look scary. (Depsite the fact that I'm 6 pounds, whatever that means). I got ham and somethin' called pizza, and all the little kids--shudder--were dropping food. Haha, and my stupid sisters, the ditzy Hallie who loves to show off, and Sierra who likes to kiss people to much, didn't get to stay out with me, cuz they were too nervous. Haha!

I wish I had Mum to myself. The other dogs just aren't very nice to me, but Mum SO makes up for it. She hugs me and lets me sleep with her, I get to go on my own walks by myself with her, and she buys me special toys when it's not my birthday or Christmas....whatever that is. The iggies get to go to obedience classes though, which they brag about, and last summer Benni got to go to camp all by himself for two whole days! (that was before the annoying puppies came along). That was because, Mum said, Benni was really reliable in his recall and he was much better with the other dogs at camp than I was. I wasn't too jealous though, because when Mum and the family came home, I got a new toy and plenty more walks! Toys, toys, toys! I love them, and Mum is always inviting me to play tug with her. THAT'S why I wasn't jealous!

I'm getting better about things, Mum says, and we all have our own special places we get to go. One time all us dogs got to go camping together with Mum and the family though, and boy, was that fun! Mum brought lots of toys, we got to go swimming, and then we ate yummy food....and I got the best place in the whole tent when we went to sleep--in Mum's arms!

I guess the other dogs are okay, and we play tug and chase a lot, which is fun...but Mum's my favorite. :)
