Best Tricks:

Arrival Story:
Mom brought me home from a breeder when I was 12 weeks old, me and my sister Hallie. We were tinytiny then, and cute as anything you've ever seen. We did lots of snuggling and playing the first night, as Hal and I settled right in and got along with Sparky from the moment we met him. I've loved mom since the say I layed eyes on her, and I'll do anything I can to be able to follow her everywhere. What can I say - I'm a lovable pup! People always called us "skinny dawgs", and said we were really slender and looked like mice. They sometimes still do. I always thought that was funny...mice? Mice? I CHASE mice!

Bio:
Sierra is a seal Italian greyhound with lovely white markings on her front and legs and four white feet. She's a fast, driven girl and she loves agility and training in general. She is an incredibly bright little IG, and few things, agility put aside, delight her more than learning little tricks and fun things to do to earn that Click! and treat. She looks for that Click! and erupts into ecstatic wagging and "roo-roo-rooing" when she's praised and rewarded for whatever cool behavior she's discovered!

We miss you Hallie, and I hope someday we meet at the rainbrow bridge!

Life these past wonderful, horrible, amazing, shocking, and- unbelievable months.

So much has happened since my last entry - only 4 short months ago - that I don't even know where to begin or how to begin. I have wonderful news, horrible news, agility news - all sorts of new things, good and bad, have happened.

I suppose I must begin with the worst thing that's ever happened in my life - Sparky's death. The dog who taught me how to bark and say hello to every dog that walks by, to chase balls with a passion, and to swim in the snow...something no other IG I know does...has crossed the rainbow bridge. My brother, my friend, a member of our close-knit pack, killed by a huge monster that roared down our normally quiet road in the night. Mommy wasn't home, only her Dad was, and Sparky was helping Mommy's dad round up the chickens(yes, that's more news I have to tell you about), he was scouting around in the dim light, making sure the coast was clear. He brushed to close to the road, they said, and was hit - his nervous system rendered useless, he spent a painless half hour lying in the grass, Mommy's dad petting him and talking to him, realizing that no vet could possibly help him, reassuring him that all will be okay and that once across that bridge, he could round up all the chickens, chase all the balls, bark at all the dogs and play, play, play, to his hearts content until we all meet him there. That's where he is now, and though mommy, her family, Hallie and I all grieve daily for him, we know he's happy and keeping an eye on us down here. Mommy cried and cried for days, and I, Hallie and Quynn(Quynn is the wonderful news) were her comfort. It's the memories that heal, and Sparky will be forever remembered.

It's hard to simply leave this sad topic behind and go on to others, but I have something so wonderful to tell you, as well. On April 7th, my Border collie brother, Quynn, came home! He was eight weeks old then and has been thriving since - he'll be six months old on August 7th. I love him very much, and though he's certainly not Sparky he is a wonderful brother. He's learning Agility, has graduated from puppy class and loves mommy boundlessly, just like I did and do still. He's growing like a WEED - you can visit Quynn's page and learn ALL about him. :)

Guess what? There are LOTS of other animals here, now. There are these big white things that go BAAAAAA and eat, eat, eat all day long. They eat the grass in the field down to short little stubble and BAAAAAA at Mommy and the rest of the family. Quynn says they're his, and he calls them Sheep.
There are lots of little Chickens, too. I would like to chase them, but Mommy always tells me "Noooo" when I get that look in my eye. There are these really WEIRD looking birds with long necks and ugly faces, too, that Mommy calls "Guinea Hens". She says they eat the blood-sucking little insects that stick to us.
And there are these two tri-colored things that sound something like sheep, but don't look like sheep and are much smaller. They say "Maaaa" in high pitched little voices and they are scared of me, but they love Mommy almost as much as I do - they follow her everywhere! Mommy says they're "Kids", or baby goats. I kind of like them, but once I asked one to play and it ran away.

I have Agility news, too! I finished my CL1 title! We've been trialing quite a bit this summer and at Bo-gee on June 24th and All-dogs on July 1st, I Q'd every single run! We went to EMAC on July 27th and 28th, and I Q'd in 6 out of 8 runs - the Snooker run Mommy messed me up in. She was laughing at herself the entire weekend for it because she can't believe how dumb she was! Teehee. But I've been having a blast and Mommy says I'm very consistent when it comes to Q-ing, now. I can do all the obstacles now - even the teeter, and I don't need any help with weaves(have you seen my videos?) - and she says we're ready to start in NADAC and AKC! I am already registered with NADAC, and we were going to a NADAC trial in June, but they cancelled it. We were very disappointed, but there will be others.
Mommy says we're going to another trial in August. I can't wait! We were going to go to Alldogs Gym again on the 11 & 12, but they filled up on the first day! We didn't make it in, and neither did my AMBulldog friend, Abby. But, like I said, there will be others. We're planning on the Alldogs trial in November - we're determined to get in next time!

This is a very long entry, but I plan on trying to keep up from now on. Life has been ohsobusy, with Sparky gone, animals all around, and the new puppy. I'm going to convince Quynn to start a diary, too!

Talk to you soon!
Wags & Licks,
Sierra

Sadsad News...and some tail-wagging news, too

I have terrible news for everyone. I wanted to tell you a long long time ago, but we've been astoundingly busy and ever since STUPIDPOOPY dial-up, Dogster has been super slow. It's pawful.

But, I wanted to tell you this: Molly never came home. She's still with her breeder, and she always will be. We ran into some issues and decided Molly would be happiest where she is now, because of problems of her own. I felt like I knew her and was ohsosad when mommy told me what had happened. And on top of that I feel terrible for both letting you all down and not telling you sooner!

But mum is still promising me we WILL find us a new BC brother or sister out their somewhere. We have some cute little prospects, but as we've learned anything can happen, so we aren't getting our hopes up until puppy comes home! But we really can hope...this is looking promising. We'll have to replace Molly's profile with New Puppy's. That's a sad thing and a happy thing at the same time...it make my tail float but not wag.

Also, mum says there are going to be weird birds called CHICKENS living with us, soon! Mom says not inside, but out in the yard. She says they're almost as big as me and they cluck and lay eggs! Can you believe that? She says that soon after that their will be goats and maybe sheep!(Our new BC sibling can herd those)....and after THAT, maybe even horses. Can you believe it? Mom says there will be lots and lots of weird animals to NOT chase, all around. It will be hard, but maybe I'll make a new friend, instead?

Bark Soon,
Sierra

P.S. If you have an amazing doggy brain or a mommy who is pawesome at thinking up puppy names, PLEASE, paw-mail us with a couple! We'd really appreciate it...mum is having a hard time thinking of the perfect one for our future sibling. Male and female names both would be great! :D
