DNA

I had a DNA test done because our Gale thought that Roxy might have a mix in her. Since I was a stray found on the street, she ran my DNA too. We both came back Shih Tzu, and only Shih Tzu! Our vet told her he already knew!

So far behind

I cannot believe my typist has not updated my page for more than six months! It might be becaus I've had so much trouble with my back, and our new little girl is having so much trouble adjusting to being in a new home.

One day while I was sick, the vet said it was time to put me down. My Gale said no. So he offered her a treatment that he said may or not may not work. It's a human anti-seizure drug called Gabapentin. After a while, I wa feeling much better. I stll feel good. I'm so much happier.

Our little girl we adopted tantrums a lot. She stresses me out! She is jealous of both of us, but I think she is more jealous of me. So, I am very vigilant for my own sake.

My first groomer ran into Gale at the store. She asked about me. I didn't like going to her, but I did feel liked she really liked me.

I'm enjoying walks in this cool weather. I try to get us to go on a path I want. For a long time, I had to ride in the stroller, but I can walk more now. I did like being pushed and carried, so sometimes, I insist that I still get that kind of treatment.

I'm sure there is more to tell, but besides being more healthy and hiding from the little girl, I think I covered the big things.

Catching Up...

Well, we have our little girl home. It's not the same as brining a foster dog or adopting a dog. This girl has some tantrums and they scare me to death. She apologizes, but that does not make me feel more comfortable. We are giving her a great home, so I don't know why she screams so much!

My back has gotten better. It took a long time. I went to see a dogtor who did acupuncture. I really like that dogtor. I always felt relaxed there. She said I was good acupuncture patient.

I'm so happy that I feel better in time for spring. I started walking around the block this week. I had been riding in the stroller. Now I can smell all the spring smells along the way.

I also started sleeping in the bed with Roxy and my Gale. I can get up the doggie stairs again.

Happy Easter to all my Dogster friends!

So much going on...

It's been a long time since I've written. So much has gone on. We are adopting a little girl (not a doggie girl, but a human girl). My Gale has been traveling on many weekends to see her. That means I had to go to Daisy's house. At Daisy's house, I mostly stay behind the couch. Her mom said I'm not any problem.

Well, our little girl, Destinee, is almost home. She does make a lot of noise, so it's going to take some getting use to.

I've been really, really sick. I spent the night in the hospital. It may be my back and a pinched nerve. My dogtor is not sure. I'm on lots of meds and strict crate rest.

My friends Daisy (yes, the one I stayed with) and Lucie Goosie both went to Rainbow Bridge. We are sad about that.

Roxy went the groomer, but I didn't have to stay. That would have been good, but I ended up at the dogtor instead.

I'm trying to get better right now, and learning to love my new human sister!

Vindicated!

Everyone always talk about how fat I am! Well, we went to the vet for Roxy's vaccinations and my Bordatella, and our weight was only 0.2 lbs apart. It's not just me!

I'm getting to be pretty close to Roxy. Gale gets very mad at us when we join forces and won't obey her. It is usually when she calls us to go for a walk, and we look at each other and decide we are not going. Rox looks out for me, so I look out for her.

I had a good time at Halloween. We had doggie treats to hand out, but since I don't like dogs, I was just eating them. Then a group of doggies came with their family. I went NUTS! Gale said I was a very poor hostess!

Saturday, it's to the groomer. We are going to get our summer cut again. We don't like brushing. We have clothes...so I guess we will be OK.

I just want my home!

So far this week, Rox and I have not been able to stay home while Gale was at work. We spent Monday with our friend Daisy and her mom. Roxy was OK, but I hid behind the couch. Gale said as she drove off, she saw me looking confused standing on two legs watching her and Roxy was whining. So, you'd think she would let us stay home today. NO! Just because we have workers in the house...we had to leave.

Roxy went to doggie day camp and I went to boarding today. When Roxy had day camp breaks she stayed with me. They said she explored and dog watched. When Gale watched them go get me, she saw I was in a kennel like setting.

Tomorrow, we are going to Petsmart Doggie Hotel. We will both just stay in one of their private suites. We won't like it, but maybe it won't stress me so. Roxy is not going to do day camp, so we will be together all day.

Next week, we may have to do more of the same. It's wearing us down.

Happy Greedy Girl

I've been not able to stop my appetite. Gale said I'm greedy, but of course, I'm not. I do like the new Nutro food we are eating. We tried it before, but I didn't like it before. The Nutro lady at Petco told Gale it's probably best for Roxy's sensitive stomach and most dogs love it. Roxy is not eating it, but that is good for me. I don't usually eat her dog food, but I do eat her chicken.

We had a hamburger patty yesterday, and I still wanted my food. Gale said that my appetite is insatiable. No wonder I'm growing across!

But I am happy.

One problem I'm having is that kids either surprise me or try to pick me up and I'm snapping at them. That makes Gale very mad.

Visiting John

Last month, we found out our neighbor John was so sick that they took him to the hospital. He is in his 80's and his wife, Grace, is in her 90's. We love going to their house to visit them. We usually stopped by their house on Mondays. But one day, John was not there to let me play with his feet. We kept visiting Grace, and sent our Gale to the hospital to see John.

Grace has moved to an assisted living home. We miss her. We will visit her, but she's had a lot of family with her. John moved to a nursing home not far from our house. Gale visits him after work everyday. Today, we finally got to see him.

We were so excited. Gale snuck (is that a word) in the room and put Rox on the bed. John was happy to see us! We had fun getting his morale up.

All the workers and residents stopped to tell us hi. It was very fun. Gale said we were very well-behaved.

We have been dogsitting two other Shih Tzus. I must say, the first week was really rough. We are doing better now. She is a girl named Peyton. She is a bit hyper, and doesn't have potty training down. He is a boy named Brady. She is ADHD! So hyper!!! Neither are spayed or neutered. Gale told their family they need to be.

The kids love them because they love to run. Roxy and I have slowed down. Roxy hates them. She doesn't even allow them to look at her.

We get the run of the house, and they get the basement. Gale leaves the Disney Channel on for them. At night, we sleep with Gale, and they sleep in their crates.

I'll be glad when their family comes back!

Otherwise, not much is happening here. We have been busy. Lovin' the weather.

Hangin' with my Girls!

I'm slow at writing about this, but the other Saturday, we had so much fun. I just have to write about it. We use to spend a lot of time like this, but it's been quite a while.

We got up and went in the car. OK...this is the bad part, but it gets better.

We went to the groomer. They did finish early, so when Gale came to get us, we went to the office with her. We love the office on a Saturday! You can smell people all over, and there are all these mazes, but you don't see anyone. Roxy and I love to run, run, run! Gale said we left earlier than she planned because we wouldn't let her concentrate.

On the way home, we stopped at a boutique our groomer told us about. It was nice, but too expensive! So, after walking around it, we drove to the health food store for doggies. We got some food. We love walking in the neighborhood of this store. We talk to lots of people.

Then we got in the car, and came home. We all napped together on the couch.

It was a wonderful day! There is nothing better than spending the day with my Roxy & Gale!!!
