 Quick Bio:
Likes: being with any member of her family, esp. Mom; racing around the back yard or the school yard, chasing squirrels, meeting new people, playing with her boyfriend King (neighbor's dog), tummy rubs, cuddles

Pet-Peeves: Not many..Lucy is unbelievably easy-going. She even submits to nightly toothbrushing and combing of her hair! She is not much on coming when called but is otherwise a gem.

Favorite Toy: Anything she can chew.

Favorite Food: Any human food, esp. grilled chicken! She is a fussy girl and will turn her nose up at dog food from time to time!

Favorite Walk: Downtown to Peet's for coffee with Mom; around Lake Lagunitas at Stanford University with Mom's best friend and her lab, running wild on Carmel Beach.

Arrival Story: Lucy is a miniature Labradoodle...a new breed originally from Australia. She is a 7th generation Lab/poodle cross. Our friend found a labradoodle from one of the 2 Australian breeders a few years ago and we fell in love with this breed. We waited about 9 months to get Lucy from her U.S. breeder, but it was worth it.

Bio: Lucy has hair, not fur, and requires a haircut every 6 weeks. She is a bit high-maintenance and requires daily combing to keep the tangles at bay.

Forums Motto: I'm a cuddler!

Dear Diary,
It's the New Year, and thank God I am finally alone with Mom. My pesky 1/2 brother Dusty was visiting for 4 whole days, and although I was a very nice hostess, and shared my food and water (well actually he gobbled without asking!), it is so nice to get my house back to myself!! Just when I thought it was safe to come out, Mom invites yet another mini-doodle, named Sailor, over for a playdate yesterday! That dog tore around my lawn like a banshee, and then Mom gave her a haircut because she looked like a Rastafarian refugee! Sailor's mom thought she looked a whole lot better with her ears a bit shorter. Today I went to my groomer's, Debby, and hung out all day with a bunch of yappers and one really nice big Wheaten terrier, who looks a lot like me, only bigger! Mom is a soft touch when I go to the groomer's...she gave me some really nice poached chicken breast for dinner...yummy! I hung around the kitchen looking plaintive but she shooed me away after my one helping. OH WELL!! You can't blame me for trying!!
Well, dear Diary, that's all for now.
Much love,
Lucy

Yes, dear diary, I've hit the big time! Mom just got a call from a local magazine, Gentry, and they are going to feature ME (oh yes, and Mommy too) in the February issue! You see, they have a feature called Pets and their People, showcasing other cute canines, and FINALLY I have been recognized as a pet-about-town! Mom is in a bit of a lather as they asked her to wear "evening makeup" for the photo shoot, and she is not exactly that type! If she rolls out the door wearing lipstick it's a good day. Moi, on the other hand...I don't need no stinkin' makeup! Just a cute bandana, a little hair-combing and eye-goop removing and I'll be ready to go! Look for me in the February issue! Mwah!

My mom and I had our photos taken by the wonderful ladies of Pet Poses Photography, and I'm going to have my picture on display at South Paw, a pet store at 199 Brannan Street! Come and see me!
