Favorite Walk:

Arrival Story:
I had been wanting a Basset Hound for months and my fiancee said that when we moved into our apartment that he would buy one for me so when we moved in, he bought him from a breeder and now I think he would give me up before him

I know his name is a little strange, I'll explain--his mom and dad wear Oakley sunglasses all the time and Oakley seemed like a good name for a dog and when we got him he just looked like an Oakley so we made his full name Oakley Raes Gon. Raes pronounced Rays like the sun rays and Gon like gone because when you wear Oakley sunglasses the sun rays are gone. He is the best cuddle dog in the world and loves to be held. He knows when I am crying or upset and will not leave my side and if I am crying he howls. He is very nosey though, and also smart He will lay there like he is sleeping and you can scream his name and he won't move but if you open the refrigerator door he jumps up immediately and if we take him outside and he does his business when we try to take him in if he is not ready he will act like he is using the bathroom to stay outside.

Well it has been a long-long week for me. I didn't know what was going on. All I knew is that my mom and dad were taking all of my toys and my couches and my bed and putting them in a big ol' truck. Then they took me and my stuff to this new big space that didn't have anywhere for me to sleep. They finally moved all of "my" stuff in and I finally realized that it was my new home. I like it alright but it has an upstairs and downstairs so I don't get nearly as many naps as I am used to. I have to go up and down the stairs like fifty times a day beacause my mom and dad just can't sit still. Everytime one of them goes upstairs I have to go right behind them. You never know what could happen, they could get hurt and I might have to help them. (That's what they think but I really follow them because you never know they might have some food hid in the bedroom, bathroom, linen closet, office, etc..-but shhh! don't tell them that) I really get tired though because if mom or dad are upstairs on the computer and the other one is downstairs I really never get to sleep because I have to keep going back downstairs to check on things, I guess I'm just nosey though. Other than that I guess its okay, I do know that I miss my old house because it was my first home and the only home I had ever had. I had just about every square inch of that placed marked if you know what I mean. Since I was a puppy there I had a lot of accidents and mom and dad might have thought that they cleaned it up but I could still smell it and now this new place just don't feel like home yet. I have learned to go outside though so I guess I'll get used to it. I do have my own little backyard which is cool though. Well that is my story about my new house, if any of my pup pals are in the process of moving, don't be sad you will get used to it.--Bark at ya later, Oakley
