It's Your Birthday!

Sorry my mom didn't update my diary ON my birthday, but she worked a long day and then had to take care of my great-grandma. Boy, she made me wait til around 10:30pm to open my presents!

Anyways, I got the coolest stuff! A WHOLE GIFT BAG FULL OF SQUEEKIES!! *woof* *woof* *woof*

Don't tell mom and dad, but I like opening the presents sometimes more than the actual gifts *hehehe*

I can't believe I'm 3 years old already! Where does the time go? Momma and Daddy tell me that I'm a "good boy" all the time and they shower me with love, hugs, and kisses. I hope they know I think they are awesome!

Momma always gets down on the floor and plays with me...she likes to kiss my tummy too (I pretend I don't like it, but, ummmmmmm I LOVE IT!). Daddy takes me on walks every night if it's not to hot for me and to the lake almost every weekend and lets me go swimming! One day I'm gonna get one of those ducks! *woof*

Well, that's all really. I had an awesome birthday and I'm having the time of my life! I miss my brother, Thor too, but he sent my new little brother Leo to me. Even though Leo is a cat, I love him bunches...just don't tell my puppy pals that, I don't want them teasing me about loving a c-a-t! ;)

Hope all is well with my pals! Talk with you all soon!

Love & Wet Kisses,

Before I Was A Dog Mom

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I made and ate hot meals unmolested.
I had unstained, unfurred clothes.
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
even if the doorbell rang.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got to bed
or if I could get into my bed.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I cleaned my house every day.
I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies
Or invited the neighbor's dog over to play.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags,
toilet paper, soap or deodorant were poisonous or dangerous.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never been peed on
Pooped on
Drooled on
Chewed on
Or pinched by puppy teeth.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had complete control of
My thoughts,
My body and mind.
I slept all night without sharing the covers
or pillow.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop a hurt.
I never knew something so furry and four-legged
could affect my heart so deeply.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never held a sleeping puppy just because I
couldn't put it down.
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was well.
I didn't know how warm it feels inside to feed a
hungry puppy.
I didn't know that something so small could make
me feel so important.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being
A Dog Mom

Dear Mom, What I Am Thankful For........

Now as a lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove,
Mom and Dad can hardly move!
I've trapped their legs, tucked in tight,
And here is where I pass the night.
No one distrubs us or dares intrude,
Till morning comes and "I want food!"
I sneak up slowly while they doze,
Then I nibble on my mommy's nose.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth-
I'm a puppy at heart, don't you see?
For the morning's here and it's time to play,
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me,
This lovely family that I see.
The ones who hug and hold me tight,
And share their bed with me at night!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Poem inspired by my puppy pal Xena Warrior Princess :)
