A day in the life of Baby

Getting the Sutures Removed

After surviving the whole weekend with a bandaged leg and a funnel for a collar I am now at the Vet's to get the bandages and sutures removed. Hopefully all is well and I get to go back to my normal life. My Mom's been feeding me antibiotics, yuck. She's been stuffing them inside liver treats so I haven't really noticed. But when she does it in front of me, I know what's going on and spit out the pill. That's usually not a good idea cause then she'll put the pill back in my mouth and then hold my muzzle til I either (a) swallow it or (b) have it dissolve in my mouth (double yuck).
I need a good bath =)

So it turns out that it was indeed a foxtail stuck inside my paw. It feels so much better now that it's out. I have to wear these bandages for a couple days. It's a little hard to walk but I'm pretty back to normal =) My Mom got me a matching blue funnel collar so I don't bite my blue bandages. (Incidently my collar, leash and halter are all the same shade of royal blue) Who said you can't look great while recovering?
The whole operation cost like $500... I'm worth it though haha.

Going to the Vet's

So something is stuck in my left, front paw. My Mom found out cause I've been licking it for the past few days. Licking it so much in fact that my white paw is now a dull maroonish color. The Vet figures its a foxtail and said I needed minor surgery to get it out. They took some skin scrapes, my temperature (which in my opinion needs to have an alternate procedure as the whole experience is entirely uncomfortable) and clipped my nails. I'm on some antibiotics for now. I was dropped off this morning to have the surgery done. I saw so many other dogs in the waiting room. I suppose going to the vet would be the equivalent of having to go to the dentist for humans. No one (and I mean NO ONE) wanted to leave their owners and go into the examining rooms. One ginormous boxer even went as far as collapsing to the floor and peeing to avoid being taken away, alas humans are strong and managed to drag him across the floor. Hopefully, when I wake up from the anesthetics I won't be in too much pain... I better get a really big, juicy treat today.
I'm debating on how I should grow out my hair. I've been getting teddy bear cuts for the longest til my Mom completely shaved me naked. I suppose she's debating between a puppy cut or a teddy bear cut hmm...
