Mom got the biopsy report back on the tumor that I had removed from my gums. It's NOT cancer. WooRoo!! I'm still on antibiotics which I don't really like, but the treats that mom gives me after I take my pill are yummy! I'm healing up well and back to my old self. I even attacked my little sister's ducky this morning. She really hates it when I do that, but I think it's funny.

Okay, so may be it isn't, but I REALLY love salmon. For years mom laughed at me because I'm a really well behaved girl, but when I smelled chicken it's like my brain would short circuit. I HAD to have some of then chicken!
Well, since I had my operation on my mouth, I haven't been able to eat hard kibble (it's soaked in chicken broth now, yum!) or treats. I have to have 5 pills a day and mom got me some salmon as a treat after taking my pills. I have to say, GIMME MORE! I think I might like salmon even more than chicken. Too bad mom says don't get used to this. In about 5 more days, once my sutures and mouth has healed, I can go back to hard food and then no more salmon everytime mom gives me a pill. I choose not to believe her.
I'm sure that I am cute enough to get salmon from her even after my mouth has healed. Don't ya think?

My mouth hurts. Mom took me to the vet yesterday for my dental work and he found lots of problems. He cleaned my teeth, took the growth off my gums and sent it off to be biopsied. The vet doesn't think it is cancer, he's almost certain it's benign, but he sent it away anyway just to be safe. Two of my teeth were pulled, and then I got some graft material implanted under my gums in order to help me re-grow some bone around my four bottom front teeth.
Mom said I needed all this stuff done and she allowed the vet to do it because she loves me. Maybe she does cause today I get my dog food soaked in chicken broth and when she has to give me my pills (pain meds and antibiotics) she gives me a bit of tuna after. YUM! But I still don't understand why my mouth has to hurt so badly.
All of this work was a surprise to my mom and to my vet too, since I get routine dental care and my mouth didn't look all that bad until he got me under anesthesia and took my x-rays. Vet told mom it wasn't her fault, 'cause my problems had more to do with genetics than with not brushing my teeth everyday, but mom still feels bad.
My biospy results will be back in about a week. Until then, mom wants to tell all your moms and dads to brush your doggie teeth regularly and make sure to check those mouths every so often 'cause all of these problems were discovered after she found a growth on my gumline two weeks ago.
