Wow! We've been away from Dogster for a bit. Life has been a bit busy these days.

I been very sick lately. CRIES! Our house has been stinky lately, and Mom finally realized it's because I keep going off into corners and puking. So today I have to fast and I have to start I/D food for a few days tomorrow. There are two sides to this. Fasting sucks! Especially when everyone else gets to eat. The good side is that the I/D food is canned. So after starving for a day then I get to say "nannynnannybooboo" to my housemates when they have to get kibble instead of canned. Hopefully this will solve the mystery of puking wonder weenies! Because lemme tell you it stinks...literally and figuratively.

YAY!!!! Mommy's back! Mommy went to Africa for her brother's wedding and left us with a friend. And that friend was great, but she wasn't mommy. And she had way too many dogs to give us the amount of spoiling we're used to. BOL! Plus, it wasn't our yard, our bed, our house. Our Mommy! We loves our mommy!

We have a new foster dog!!! I suppose that's exciting. He's certainly enticing to all us girlies. A man in the house! Mom says that he truly is a man, and she can't wait until he gets neutered because he marks everything. Thus, he has to stay penned most of the time. Plus, he has heart worms which is another reason to stay penned. But it's kinda exciting. His name's Chito, and he's a chihuahua. Look for his profile to show up here. :)

It's my party and I'll bark if i want to, snarf if I want to, play if I want to... Woohoo! Hard to believe that I turned four and wasn't here on Dogster to celebrate, but suffice it to say we've been busy here in Wonder Weenie land and haven't had excess time for computer fun. But I turned 4, and Glady turned 7!!! Woot! Pawty, pawty, pawty!!!

Life seems to throw you a curve ball at all the wrong times. In this case, Mom doesn't know how to handle it. One week ago I was at the emergency vet for anaphylaxis leading to a bill of $900. Mom doesn't even double that each month after taxes are taken out. Thank Dog for Care Credit! But then tonight I hurt my back. The symptoms obviously point to IVDD which means surgery at its worst or medical therapy at its best. It looks like a lesser case which is a blessing in itself. Still, it means yet another trip to the emergency vet for another ridiculous amount of money. Ok, so obviously life happens and you move on. But we just moved to a house, and it needed repairs. Mortgage, utilities and necessary repairs alone spread our resources pretty thin. But then to add this to the financial burden is just too much. Is it doable? I have to say "yes", it's doable. But it screws up all our plans. We were slated to adopt a dog tomorrow. As long as my vet bills are less than $500, we'll still go through with it. We've waited months for this, and the paperwork is already filled out and ready to go. Right now I'm in the crate with mobility in all my limbs, but obviously in a lot of pain. My hope is that a shot of steroids and eight weeks of crate rest, and I'll be ready to go. This nixes any plans for fostering right now of course. But if you've read my fursister Lucy's diary lately, you'll see that Mom is a little down on my rescue right now anyway. Not that dogs should have to pay though! I don't get it. Have we moved into a cursed dwelling? What kind of bad karma have we racked up?! Like Mom has done her entire life, she'll make it work somehow, but still. It's just too much. It's all too much at one time. :(

Holy moly! I have discovered that I'm allergic to something. MOm thinks it's ivy which is toxic for most dogs. I ate something in the yard a few days ago, and boy did I get sick. I was spurting poop and vomit and hiding from mom. We went to the vet pronto. And sure enough, anaphylaxis with a primarily g/i response was the diagnosis. I had to go on iv fluids and have lots of tests run. I also got to eat yummy canned food which made the other Wonder Weenies jealous! BOL! But what a scare, and what a dent to Mom's budget. Fortunately, she has good credit and can pay it back over time. But stay away from suspicious plants, ya hear! You don't want to go through what I went through, trust me!

We've moved!!! Hurray! Mom says this is the last move of our lives...or at least the last move for a looooong time. Cool part is that we have a yard now!!! How exciting!!! And Mom never realized how well she trained us to be quiet until she moved into a neighborhood with a bunch of barking dogs. BOL!!! We're better behaved than she thought. :) But unfortunately there are going to be repairmen coming in and out for a couple weeks or so, but it's so exciting. Our own house with our own yard (no more leashes everytime we want to go outside!!!) and no carpet. Wheeeeeeeeee!!! Oh...and the cool news is that we're getting another dog, too. A rescue dachshund named Larry. He has a history of disk disease, but now we don't have stairs, so Mom feels more comfortable bringing him into the home. And lastly, we're gonna be able to foster, too. This is soooo exciting!!!

Mommy!!!!! Why won't you go to sleep?! Why?! Every night insomniac mommy gets on the 'puter and just types away until almost 4 am in the morning! What does this mean? She leaves all the lights are left on, and we have to deal with a mom who won't go to bed. Grrrrr. Mommy!!! Think of the hermit crabs! They need darkness at night to thrive! So turn out the lights and go to bed! Hop to it!

OOOH! A rumor has been passed along to me from above. We might be moving! Like...to a house with a yard instead of an apartment. How cool is that?! That means we won't have to be walked on the leash every single time we gotta go outside. And we might have a dog door which means we can go outside whenever we wanna. And no stairs up to the second floor either. And Mom can foster and we can adopt another dog because no one else has a say-so. Do you realise just how cool this is? This is SO exciting!!! I'm turning in circles just thinking about it!
