Arrival Story:
I was in desperate search of a new companion, because I love dogs to death and could not stand not having one. I decided that I wanted a dachshund due to their apperance and personalities. I began to search all over the internet and the newspapers, hoping to find a short-haired, red, female dachshund around one year old. Well, I tried everything from the newspaper, classifieds, the internet, dachshund websites, and then I was almost ready to give up and I remembered one particular website.. www.petfinder.com. I went to pets for adoption and put in my preferences, and began to search. I finally stumbled upon a post that said there was a female,one and a half year old, red, short-haired dacshund that a lady needed to sadly give away due to her allergies. I called the number hopeful someone would answer, no one did, so I left a message. Five minutes later, I received a phone call and the lady explained to me that she needed to find Lucy a home due to her allegries. I said I would meet her and her husband so I could meet Lucy and decide if she is what I wanted. Well I finally met up with the lady and her husband and Lucy, and as soon as Lucy came into sight, I was so Happy and said I would immediatly take her. I paid for her and took her to Petsmart and bought her tons of toys, and other necessities and brought her home. I love Lucy to death, and I think she was made for me :)
