Arrival Story:
Savannah was rescued from the pound by Stephanie (Mom to Dugan and Maggie)at Triangle Herding Dogs. I found her on petfinder.org and upon meeting her, fell in love. She is the best little dog anyone could ever ask for. How she ended up at the pound is a mystery to me because she's perfect. I only wish that I had been her guardian since puppyhood as I suspect her years prior to Stephanie's intervention were not the easiest. She is still a little skittish about sudden moves, being picked up etc.

Erhlichichosis is over. :) ********************************** ************ She is currently under treatment for Erlichichosis. *sigh* We've been trying to beat this for quite a while now. I'm hopeful that the new drug regime that we're trying will kick this tick-borne disease for good. I'm sure that Savannah is quite fed up of feeling like crap, and having me cram antibiotics down her throat. (she's too wise to allow me to hide drugs in food...she inspects every little treat to make sure that there are no hidden drugs) She is however enjoying the extra treats she gets in order to make sure that there is food on her stomach for the doxy. Her veggie mom was seen at the grocery store with a cart full of canned tuna and chicken, bologna and pepperoni. ********************************** ********** Savannah recently passed her Canine Good Citizen test. She managed to take (and pass the test) while rolling in duck poop. I thought for sure that we'd fail as it seems that canine good citizens should not be coated in duck poop, but what do I know?? LOL. ********************************** ************************ Savannah also thinks that everyone should look at Cubby's page and send him get well thoughts (and tail wags) during his radiation treatments.
