Arrival Story:
Tipsy was stumbled upon quite by accident! We already had a large number of pets when my husband decided to go down to the local pet supply store where the Humane Society had some animals set up for adoption. I told him that I didn't want to go because I knew that we would come back with another dog. But we went anyway to take a look around. Tipsy was the last dog there and she looked very sad and unhealthy. At first I was a bit afraid of her because I had never had a dog like her before and she was so big. But you could tell that she was so unhappy and that her previous home had not been kind to her because you could see her ribs poking out. To this day if my husband even raises his voice a little bit she cowers which makes me believe she was abused. Sure enough we ended up falling for her and bringing her home! That was one of the best decisions that we have ever made because now she is a happy girl with meat on her bones and parents who adore her.

Tipsy is a fun loving, beautiful boxer. We were told that she was given to the Humane Society because she was too rambunctious for her previous owners which is a characteristic of boxers. She is very hyper but that is part of her charm and it lets me know that she is happy to see me. She is extremely smart and loves to sleep with Mommy and Daddy at the foot of the bed. She always has her tongue hanging out which I absolutely adore and I think it makes her look even more beautiful! We had a good scare after Tipsy had been brutally attacked by our neighbor's pit bull. Luckily, she was not seriously injured, sustaining only superficial wounds on her body and losing the tip of one of her ears. We are so lucky to have her with us today.

Dog Run Days

I know I haven't written in here in awhile but I have been so busy destroying my dog run. I guess you could say that I am upset at Mom and Dad for switching me into the dog run and putting the other four runts out in the yard. I know, I know. I can be rambunctious but I adore barking and jumping over the fence at the neighbor's dogs. Dad comes out and yells at me and Mom just stands there because she can't control me. She always gives me the same lecture about how lucky I am to be around after jumping on the fence and getting pulled into the neighbor's yard and chewed up. I don't even think about that anymore! But she still gets upset about it. She got even more upset about me chewing up the chain link fence! Oh, well. Back to destruction...

Barking and Mischief

Today I woke up late which worked because I was let out late. Just another Sunday. Mom put out the other annoying foursome and I could hear them yapping and barking in excitement. I wanted to close my ears because I didn't want to hear them having all the fun! I don't like them anyway.
The day was nice and I was happy to run around and get some food in my belly. Dad mowed the lawn and I managed to keep a safe distance away. I like watching him but I hate getting too close. The lawn mower is loud. The dogs next door started barking and I got excited to see what they were barking at! I started barking and jumping at the fence but both mom and dad got mad. They don't like me doing that since the accident but I can't help it! It's just too tempting. Mom got really mad at me one time and came outside to scold me. She tried to discipline me but she failed miserably! I could tell she felt bad about scolding me so I gave her my best sad look. And she never can resist me when my tongue is sticking out of my mouth! She scratched my head and rubbed me behind me ears. She even gave me kisses and I knew I was off the hook. Anyway, tomorrow she will be at work all day and I can go back to barking at the dogs next door to my heart's content.
