My very favorite indoor thing to do is chase my ball and bring it back for someone to throw again (and again, and again!). My favorite outdoor activity is digging, digging, digging.

Pet-Peeves:
I definitely don't like anyone to pet me south of my collar, unless they're rubbing my tummy. I hate it when I'm sleeping in mom and dad's bed and they move, even an inch!

Favorite Toy:
My very favorite toy is a green squeaky ball. I will play with it until they take it away from me! (I don't understand why they would do that, do you?)

Favorite Food:
I'll eat anything if it comes from mom and dad's table or the kitchen counter, even sauerkraut (must be the German in me)! In fact, if they leave it on the table, I've been known to help myself!

Favorite Walk:
My favorite place to walk is anywhere there are good things to sniff. I really like mom and dad's place in the country because it's a "leash free zone", except at night. Mom says I'm "owl bait."

Best Tricks:
My very best trick is being cute and lovable, but I'm also very good at catching a ball!

Arrival Story:
When mom and dad brought me home from the breeder I was very young. In fact, I nearly fit in the palm of dad's hand. My Aunt Ashley, who lived with us then, had never been around a puppy before and I completely won her over. She let me sleep in her lap or on her tummy all day and would even cover me with a blanket. I LOVE Aunt Ashley!

Bio:
Schnitzel is my third dachshund and, like all who have gone before her, she is very cold-blooded. She loves to be covered up when she's sleeping so much that she used to sleep under the covers in our bed. Then, one day, I made her a little sleeping bag out of a crib quilt and that was the last time she slept in our bed. She LOVES it!!
