Arrival Story:
I've wanted a St. Bernard since I was small so I started looking at puppies. Boy, were they expensive!! Then I thought, do I really want to commit to a puppy training, cleaning, etc. So I started looking at the rescues. I found one in our area and contacted them immediately. I found Claude and set up a time to go see him - he was 150 miles away at a foster home. When I got to the foster home, he was skinny but very active. The foster Mom told me that he had been sick and didn't have a chance to clean him up - which I thought was strange because I called and set up the appointment 1 week in advance. She also told me she thought he was sick because her sewer backed up in the basement - to me this meant she kept the dog in the basement and he was drinking that water. When she left him outside, he drank a bowl of water down like nothing and I knew I had to get him out of there. Her house was a disaster - dog feces, cat feces and urine all over the house and this woman ran a daycare!! I took Claude home, contacted the rescue that I had him and he was sent to the vet for a checkup. He was 55 pounds underweight and they were appalled by his condition. Well, I adopted him and he is a healthy 150 pound bundle of joy!! Doesn't matter we have slobber all over the house - he is my big teddy bear.

I've been pretty busy taking care of my little friend Brandy so I haven't written for awhile. She's been sick but she is doing better. I'm her really big bother so I protect her when we go to the park. Sometimes she has dogs pick on her because she is older, but I let them have it and chase them away.

Today my Dad took us to the park twice and we went for a walk when Mom got home. We also got to go for a ride to a bunch of stores, but not the ones we could go into. I like going into the stores. I get lots of pets. After the stores we went to get hamburgers. That is my FAVORITE part!! I'm tired now so I think I'll go to sleep for awhile. I need to rest up because we have lots of snow coming and I love playing in the snow. Plus Dad might need help with the snowblower. I'm good at getting in his way.

I went to see Santa on Sunday and got my picture taken with him. He was nice to me and I sat really really good for my picture. After my picture, I got to walk around the store and meet lots and lots of people. Mom bought me some treats and then we went to the park to play. I had a lot of fun. Mom is going to check and see what it takes for me to be a therapy dog. I love people A LOT and want to be around them all the time.
