Arrival Story:
As a child we owned a phenomenal dog. He came to us on the coldest day of the year as a stray -- we adopted him after unsuccessfully looking for his owner. His name was "Dawg" since we took too long to decide on a name. We had many good years with him, but eventually he did cross the Rainbow Bridge. I've spent much of my adult life looking for dogs that reminded me of him -- I was always unsuccessful. One day I came across shilohs, P&C Ridgewood Shilohs to be exact, and I saw a picture of their "Lee" who reminded me so much of my dog that I was in tears. I was floored but had to find out more about these dogs. Was my "Dawg" a shiloh, probably not. But one last time he helped me, even from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, to fill a void that had been missing since I lost him. He led me to these dogs and specifically to Hamish -- my current heart and soul dog! I miss you Dawg, I love you, I thank you once again for watching out for me.

Hamish is a sable, plush coated shiloh shepherd from Shenandoah Kennels/B&T Shilohs. Born on Valentine's Day 2004, he is my heart and soul! We also own a smooth coated shiloh shepherd named Gareth. Hamish and Gareth are real half brothers through their sire. More pictures of Hamish can be seen at http://www.macshilohs.com/. We're members of the ISSDC [International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club] which welcomes Shilohs from all registries. To find out more about shilohs check out the website at: http://www.shilohs.org.

I was tagged by Sampson!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

1. I was born on Valentine's Day.
2. Frozen fish is my favorite food.
3. I inspired my mom to start taking pictures again.
4. I have to have a hit of toilet paper now and again even though I know I'm not supposed to, mom calls it "Doggie Heroin."
5. I'm the best snuggler and love to manically give kisses.
6. Stick your tongue out and me and I'll give you a sloppy wet kiss.
7. I whine, therefore I am. And as a result, I'm SPOILED but I'll never admit it.

So it's March

March always marks a sad time for me, as it means that my beloved snow will soon be leaving me. This saddens me greatly as I'm not a huge fan of any weather over 50 degrees. And well, since my parents won't move any further north than we are, I spend much of my summer in the air conditioning dreaming about the time when my beloved snow will once again return to me. Why must she leave me?

February was quite the month, I turned two and my brother Gareth turned one. He's now bigger than me, but don't tell him that as I still sometimes have to take him down to remind him who's boss. We got some great bully sticks and toys and mom took some quite embarassing pictures of us in party hats. I'm hoping they won't make it online ANYWHERE.

On another note, my beautiful sister Kassie is now on Dogster . . . go visit her at http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=272971&j=t

Bark at you soon . . .
Hamish -- the sad, *arooooooo*

How Did That Happen!?!?!

Well, now mom is making me write a diary entry . . . my paws weren't made for such things.

We got news this morning I was picked as "Dog of the Week." Mom is really excited but all I want to know is does that mean I get more bully sticks? One can never have too many bully sticks in my opinion, especially when they have a little brother who steals them without fail.

First this whole Christmas thing is happening this week so we get presents and then this! It's a great week!

Although I know I'll love all my new toys and presents, the best gift this week is having both mom and dad home with us days during the week! Arooooo. And on top of that, snow, snow, snow, snow . . . I just love snow and I'll get to romp in it endlessly while they're home. That's my favorite Christmas wish answered.

Oh, Mom said to tell you that if you want to know more about my breed, I'm a shiloh shepherd and a my family is a member of the ISSDC [the International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club] which welcomes shilohs from all registries to meet and get to know each other -- http://www.shilohs.org.

Don't know how I was picked, but thanks! I think the theme was "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" and they must've liked the picture of me running with abandon with my Doggles on my forehead.
