So I'm back at camp only this time, I'm not in solitary lock down healing from my ACL injury. I'm with the general population, going to the lake and pond every day for a swim, hiking with my pals and generally interracting with all the kids at camp. It is much more fun this way. At night, after a long day of playing, I barely get my muzzle on the blanket before I'm out cold. The next thing you know, Aunt Marian is waking us up for a last out. Having fun all day is exhausting! My best friend at camp is my buddy Hamilton. He's a Rottweiler too, but he is a couple of years younger than me. He really looks up to me and I kind of know I have the responsibility of making sure he grows up strong and obedient. Sometimes, just for fun, I convince him to do something silly and he'll do it just to try to impress me. He usually gets caught but it is all in good fun. Anyway, gotta run. They're loading up the van for a swim and I don't want to be left out. If anyone reading this wants to come to camp, they can log on to the camp's site and check it out at:

If you want to see my recent pictures, check out the week of June 15 to the 21st. I'm prominently featured in the first and last three pictures for that week. Hope to see you soon!

So Mama and Papa came to visit yesterday - I was so excited (even though I'm supposed to stay calm and not jump) I really couldn't even contain myself. They took me for a road trip to a great vet up the road and he took out all my staples. I tried to be brave but at least two of them really hurt! There was a horse in the parking lot getting a check up (guess he couldn't fit through the door) and there were lots of other guys getting their check ups, too. It was the most excitement I've had since being at Grandma's for Thanksgiving. Papa shed me with a shedding wand while we were waiting to get called in for our appointment and Mama gave me a really yummy Denta-bone (kinda like a Greenie-bone, but slightly different). Anyway, the doctor says I'm healing fine and that everything is going as it should be. Being in the car and then in the snow made me just want to romp in the woods. I can't wait until I can play with my friends again. There are about 8 other dogs at camp right now but unfortunately, I am still in solitary confinement, just going on short walks with a leash and limited activity. I feel fine but everyone says I still need to take it easy for the next 6 weeks. Oh, well, I guess I'll catch up on all that junk mail I never seem to get around to throwing out . . . keep your messages and good wishes coming and thanks :)

Recovery is BORING!!

So I'm feeling much better and anxious to get the staples out on Saturday. Unfortunately, the doctors say that I have to be restricted in my movement for another 6 weeks! Can you imagine how boring it is? Here I am in the beautiful New Hampshire mountains - there has been snow on the ground since I got here last Sunday and I can't even hike or romp in it because I'm on "limited leash walks". It just doesn't seem fair. The girls who are taking care of me have been great - I love when they go on the computer because then they're in the office with me and I have company. I have lots of energy so I must be almost all better! Thank you everyone for your well wishes - I hope to be as good as new really soon.
