Arrival Story:
We went to the local animal control at Paulding county Georgia. He was all alone with his head hanging down. We had to have him. He was so sad looking and about 25 pounds underweight. The officer said someone had just bought him back because they said he had diarrhea and would'nt run.Well if you were sick like that would you wanna run ? I think not. We let them know we wanted him and paid. They held him while we went to Walmart and bought everything for him blanket, bowls, collar, lease, food and of course treats. We came back and he was so happy when the man let him out of the pen. He jumped right up into the back of our Landrover for the ride home. When we got home he jumped out and ran around the yard ( we had 5 acres in the country) however you could tell he was so sick.He slept that night on his new blanket beside our bed. This was on a Saturday so we had to wait till monday to take him to a vet. Once that day came we found out he had heartworms. We could'nt let him die, he was so gracious and strong and had lasted this long. The vet said it was a very bad case and may not work. We immediatley said it is worth a try. We had to leave him for two days. We got a call from the vet and he said it looks good he is ready to go home now. We still were not out of the water yet as we had to wait a full 7 days after the treatment. He recovered well started gaining weight and was happier and happier everyday. The $1000 we spent to get him back in good health was well worth it as he is our guardian angel. We have now had him for 2 years.

Donner loves to protect his family. He does not like meeting strangers unless we are there to introduce them to him. Which is a good thing, I am never scared to be alone or leave our home unattended because I know he will protect us and our home. We believe he was trained as a police or protection dog at some point as his intelligence is off the charts. One funny thing he does is if we put out food for him and leave he will not eat that food until we come home because he knows if he does he will have to go outside. Soon as we walk in the door he eats. It is hilarious and so smart of him. If you look closely you will see a picture of me and my family. Yep its small, medium and large LOL

Well I can totally explain. Ok see Buh Buh or Buttercup was goofing off trying to jump on my back and as she says "Go in for the kill" when mom snapped this photo !!
Yes it looks very well awkward. First I look like one of those animated dogs that talk on tv just look at my face ! Then there is Buh Buh , mom sure did snap that pic at the wrong time. Yes I know what it looks like but I assure you
as the gentleman that I am I would never allow such from a little 5 pound FEMALE chihuahua. Therefore the photo only makes you think that I am a lush.

Ok , now that that is over I can finally get back to my nap.

Oh and thank you mom for embarrassing me in front of all my dogster pals.

Lovely Day

Hope you like my new picture. Mom took it of me today standing on our deck. She was down below to get a good shot. I am such a cute poser ! Cute I meant mean and fierce !! Yea yea yea. Well I am lounging around outside today in our great backyard. It's so nice and sunny. Only thing I hate is those dang bees UGGGHH
You wanna just bite them but.... u know what that will get you.

So I just sleep quietly in the sun while they bzzzz all over the place. It is so hard to ignore. Mom will be back soon. She is out with Penny today. Well I am going back to sleep. Cause big bad dog like myself needs his rest.

Good Day

Another rainy day

Hey there dogsters. I just thought I would check in and let you know what has been happening in my world. Well today it is raining which ruins things because I have to stay inside. Meaning I WONT go out unless forced. I hate the rain, I like to have dry and warm paws not muddy ones. I'd rather die than go out in the rain. Unlike getting a bath those are great. I feel so good afterwards.
So, today it's just me and my family Penny & Buttercup sleeping on our nice warm blankets. That is until Penny goes outside and comes in with wet fur and feet. When is she going to learn to say inside. Yea she is still just a puppy. I am an old wise dog I have a lot to teach them. WUFF WUFF.

Did I hear it was Bone Time ??? Yes it is it is bone time WUUFFF
