Arrival Story:
I had been looking for a dog for months when I came across a picture of Ben on petfinder.com. He was with a pet rescue service almost 8 hours from my house, but I didn't care about the distance because I fell in love with him instantly. I called the owner of the pet rescue service 20 times a day but she never responded to my inquiries about the puppy. I later learned that they were concerned about giving the dog to someone who lived so far away, because they were worried that if it didn't work out I might bring him to a shelter that would euthanize him. Everyone warned me not to get too attached to a dog I had never seen and suggested I start looking for another puppy, but I knew Ben was meant to be mine and I persisted. Finally after a week of 20 phone calls a day the pet rescue service relented and one 8 hour car trip later I had a new puppy. He is more perfect for me than I ever could have imagined.

Bio:
Ben, his mother, and his three siblings were found abandoned on Christmas Eve, 2002. The local police department was called and they brought them to a pet rescue facility that specializes in cocker spaniels and cocker mixes. Their body temperature was very low and they were all in very poor health. They refused to give up on the dogs and nursed them all back to health, hand feeding them several times a day for months.
