 Birthday: September 17th 1991

Favorite Toy: mr. fluffy

Favorite Food: he's a carb addict!

Favorite Walk: any walk that mom is on

Best Tricks: Bang! (play dead)

Arrival Story: He was my parents dog, but living a boring sheltered life in upstate NY. I was moving out to San Francisco and in the market for an adult dog, so my parents sent Sam along with me. It made them feel better that I was going with a family member

Bio: Sam has put me through a lot but taught me so much. He was my first real dog as an adult and I had no idea what I was doing. He turned out to have bad separation anxiety and would howl for hours whenever I left him making my life and relationships with neighbors difficult to say the least. He was aggressive to puppies & old dogs in the dog park for the first couple of years I had him, he started having seizures within a couple of months of moving out here. Had I known all this, I would have left him with my parents but had I done that I would not have the friends I have today (met in the dog park,) wouldn't have had the guts to quit my job and start a dogwalking business (I had to, I couldn't leave Sam alone.) I wouldn't have learned all the dog training I have, wouldn't have worked with homeopathy and eventually improvd my own health, and I might not have learned how to stick it out when things feel overwhelming and you want to pack it in. Most of all, I wouldn't have the loyal friend I have today and I wouldn't trade this pain-in-the-butt for all of the cute puppies in the world.
