Arrival Story:
We inherited Fritz when my husband's uncle passed away this past New Years Eve. My husband and I had a 14 year ongoing "discussion" about whether we could have a dog until Fritz came along.

Survived Heart Worms the summer before our Uncle adopted him. The person that had owned him had agreed to pay for the treatment for the animal shelter when it was discovered. Fritz was recently certified as a Therapy Dog. Fritz is also a Geodog and a Travel Bug. You would need to know what Geocaching is to understand that I guess but it gets him out in the woods which he likes.

I am telling mom that our resolution for this year is to write more often in my diary. She doesn't let me use the computer that often. Things have been really good. Got a really neat basketful of stuff for Christmas. I have had several new foster brothers and sisters since I wrote the last time. Sadly Tony and Betty went to the bridge. I know they are waiting for me. Since then I have had Kingston, we didn't get along that well, Newton, who found a forever home, Lita, she is still here, Tillie, She found a forever home also and now Santiago. Lot's of other guys have come and just had a sleep over with us also. Got to spend time at Aunt Heidi's this fall when Mom and Dad took Sam to the Dachshund Race in Ohio. Kind of glad I didn't have to spend all of that time in the car driving. Maybe I'll go next year. Been kind of chilly here the last few days. I need to stay snuggled up. I get up and bark to protect everyone then I dive right back into my snuggle bed.

Sam was sick this weekend

My brother Sam felt pretty bad the last few days. He stopped eating on Friday and Mom and Dad took him to the scary doctor on Saturday morning. I was afraid that the doc was going to make him stay there. I know how much he hates that. Luckily mom and dad brought him home. They told me he has a kidney infection, whatever that is I hope I don't get one. He has to take pills for awhile. He had a big fight with mom when she tried to give him a pill. I told him he should have just eaten the pill pocket that she gave him and it would have been much better. I think he bit her since I heard her say ouch! He's got some really big teeth. Now the good thing about all of this was mom cooked up chicken and rice for everyone! Sam decided her would eat that, no big surprise there.

Mom's friend Bobbie Jo came to see us for a while. She had one of her foster's with her. Her name was Dasha and she was hoping that she was going to her forever home that afternoon. She said that she was going to be on her best behavior when she met the family so they would want to take her home with them. She seemed really nice and she was very cute.

A Christmas Adventure

I had a great day. I got presents and I got loose and was able to run away. The day started with new toys and a new bed and treats. A really good way for the day to start. Then there was lots of people and kids to play with. After dinner someone left the gate open and out I went. It was a few minutes before anyone realized that I was gone and then the hunt was on! 16 humans out there looking for me. Heather found me and brought me home safe and sound. I really had just decided that they all needed a walk after the big dinner they had and this was the best way to get them moving. Mom doesn't really agree with my ideas on this.
