They said to prepare for at least a year wait, as the breed isn't surrendered often. Two days later, they contacted me - an owner who was going blind needed to find a home for his sheepdog but didn't want to surrender her...he was asking for people to interview. I met him & Sally on a Saturday & brought her home on Sunday! I've met my other dogs through the Humane Society & that always feels like a happy ending...this was bitter sweet. The owner cried like a baby, Sally was confused...I cried like a baby. It took a while for things to gel (six months) but she's a great dog & I love her to bits. Bio: This picture that I'm posting (I'll post more to show the progress) is of Sally (& Riley the cat) right after I brought her home - but first we had to stop at the groomer. She was extremely matted, with open sores on her back. She was also 126 pounds!!! So this picture of hers is showing her fuller figure...I can proudly say that she's now down to 96 pounds. Still quite large for a female but her bone structure is more like a male than a female. She also has David Bowie eyes!!! One bright blue, one brown. I've Been On Dogster Since:
