My brother-in-law and his wife were breeding Aussies and, after a family gathering, invited us to come and see the new arrivals. It was love at first sight...even for my husband who wasn't keen on the idea of a dog at the time. Those little bundles of furry love changed his mind!! We chose our little fur ball and decided to call him 'Kismet' because our unplanned visit had resulted in a new member to our family..it must have been fate!!

Holy Snow Day Doggie Friends!!

Well, my BowWow Budds, here it is. Snow in the Maritimes. I have been really enjoying the 'winter' so far this year. Almost no snow and lots of that gooey, messy, dog's best friend stuff- MUD!! And, what's this??? Snow. And not just a little bit of it. Yeah. You know what I mean. Flying around in your face up your nose kind of stuff. OK. Truth be told, I love to eat that fluffy white stuff... but on my own terms, man!! I don't like to be force fed, if you know what I mean! Sheesh!! That stuff is raw up the old Schnoz!!

Anyway, tomorrow is another day. I'm certain it will be a good snuffin' and snortin' kind of day. Less wind, all pleasurable experience. Take it on my own terms. You know.

Today, my Dad took me for a great run before the storm started. He gets kinda cranky when I don't listen, so, I paid pretty close attention and didn't run off to mess around like I sometimes do. 'Sides, he really bragged me up to Mom when we got home, and you KNOW I like that!! HAAAA!! She gave me that really happy, "I'm-proud-of-you" look that she does and got me some fresh water. I was feelin' good!! Then, my Dad even took me out for a little tramp around once the storm began. He likes walking in the falling snow. Mom was busy with the small ones, so they didn't come out. Yeah, I liked it. Even better, Dad had put some compost stuff on the counter and forgot about it...I couldn't say for sure, but, I think the Treat Fairy came by and gave it a little push in my direction... oh, yes, that's what I Think happened. There was some really tasty skin from chicken Mom was making for supper!! I am one lucky dog!!

Well, it's been a long day and I think I'm about ready to take in some TV before bed. Mom likes me to keep her company. I'm glad to help out around the house, you know, when I can!!

Ya Gotta Bark the Bark!!

Hey Doggie Pals!!

It's almost 11p.m., so I won't write long. Well, you know, I've gotta get my beauty rest. Today, was a beautiful, mild day. When Mom let me out for my morning stroll, I was tempted to make the neighbourhood rounds. However, Mom seemed to read my mind and came out with me to remind me to come in for breakie. I do so enjoy my kibble. She thinks she's putting me through my paces to earn my meal - little does she know!! I'm way ahead of her!! I know exactly what she's going to ask me to do and if she'd just let me do my routine, we'd be zippity-do-da done and I'd get my breakfast a lot quicker!! Sheesh!! Parents!

Anyway. My Mom took the little guy and I down the road for a walk to the mailbox. I had a great time!! I stopped in to see my friend, Copper, who lives just across the road. She's a lovely Irish Setter, but, she doesn't get out much. When she is out, her family ties her to a big wooden chair, so I always tell her if she'd pull hard enough she could get away for a walk with me. We've discussed it in detail, and were in the thick of it today, but Mom seemed to think we were disturbing the peace, or something. What can I say? A dog's gotta bark!! I did find some lovely kitty-cat bonbons in her yard, which I thanked her for repeatedly. After our trip to the mailbox, we played in the yard for a long time. Mom found some great sticks for me and threw them all over the place. I must confess, I was more than ready to go in for a rest when we were done!! Let me tell you, my tongue was hanging out like a dog!! I mean, I was 'dog-tired'!! Oh. Yeah. Right.

Later, I had a good chat with the cats. Funny how I do most of the talking. Although, Mom and Dad don't seem to see the humour. Hmmm.

Anyway. There's nothing like spending time with the family!! Dontcha think?!

Well, Gotta Snooze!

Wags and Woofs!!

Trot Proudly and Carry a Big Stick!

Well, Hello all!

My Mom and I had a rather nice morning. I suggested a walk, to which my Mom simply replied, "Garbage Day!" Now, to my way of thinking, that translates to, "Let's leave now and don't forget the 'doggy bags'!" Sometimes I just don't get her!

So, we hung out together while the kids were out, and even that was nice. There was sufficient cat chasing and barking at said cats, but, very little mouthing of those little pests. It's funny when I turn my head and look away, they can still see me. Hmmm. Must be psychic or something.

This afternoon, Mom, the two kids and I went out for a romp. It's funny to see my little furless siblings all bundled up at the least sign of cold. Even my Mom is a big wimp!! Yep! I have actually heard her say that she doesn't like the cold!! And it's barely dipped below zero Celsius! I don't know why they don't just grow a furry coat like mine. It's attractive, easy to care for, goes with everything and never goes out of style! What more can you ask for?!

So. After everyone is weather-readied, we head out and WoweeKabowee!! I find a wonderfully crunchy, terrifically big stick!! It was a little awkward at first, but before long I had the hang of running with it, without catching it on the ground and sending myself catapulting across the yard. Not that that would happen. My Mom even stepped on it and I had to try and get it. What fun!! Then, the furless ones were playing some kind of game involving running and laughing and calling out things like, "Home base!" and "You're It!" so, of course I had to run along with them,(with my stick, of course) just to make sure everyone played safe!! They even played one of my favorite games, which, I might add, I'm also quite good at. It is called, "Find Them!" It goes like this; Someone hides and then someone else calls out, "Find Them!!" (complicated, I know!) Of course, the impressive finale is me finding whoever 'them' is. Aahh! I like that game. Love it even!! It was dark all too soon and it was time to go in. The upside was, it was Supper Time!! The downside was, I was muddy again and had to stay in the kitchen. Of course, that's where Mom makes the supper thing happen, so what can I say...It's all good!!

Yeah. So. Another day is wagging to its close. It is 9:20p.m. here in Halifax, and yes, the little ones are all tucked into their beds. Wish I could sleep on their beds...they're so warm. Oh, well. I guess I'll have to content myself with the love seat while Mom's not looking...

I'm off to Doggy Dreamland!!
Wags and Woofs!
