Pet-Peeves: Being left alone....He could chew his way through concrete
Favorite Food: Anything that isn't attached to your hand.
Arrival Story: He showed up on our porch early one morning in March 2003. Bull Terriers had been my girlfriend's (Tracy) most favorite dog...so it was a minor miracle that a purebred suddenly came into our lifes. She was both excited and nervous about the possibility of keeping him. After two weeks of searching for his owner, we found out that someone picked him up completely greasy and dirty three months prior, the person also tried to find his owner to no avail. This gave the green light for Tracy to keep this (not so little) Court Jester. Even though I already have two wonderful dogs too.
Bio: The sad news is: Tracy and I had only been able to enjoy his company as "Our" (Tracy's) dog for a matter of a few weeks since he showed up on our doorstep. Butkus was diagnosed with acute anemia (Evan's Syndrome) in less than a four weeks of his arrival. He had become gravely ill! He had shown signs of pulling through this illness. Butkus' energy was up on Wednesday yet Thursday he took a turn for the worse. That night he was racked with pain, but in the middle of night, he had gotten off of the dog bed in which he was covered, took a HEALTHLY Poo and settled himself in his kennal where he died peaceful between 10:45pm - 12 midnight. The Vet feels a bloodclot got him. He was draped in Purple Velvet and laid to rest in Dry Creek Valley overlooking the vineyard.
