Arrival Story:
There was a pet store near my house where in an emergency I would pick up dog food for my big dogs, Jake and Harley (both deceased now). They kept puppies in the back which I swore I would not look at and for two years I didn't. I would just get my dog food and leave. One day, I told myself I would look at the puppies but would not pick any of them up. Almost all of the puppies were asleep.....except for Gracie who was standing on her hind legs begging me to pick her up. How could I resist?
I picked her up and she collapsed into my arms with her front paws around my neck, her hind quarters splayed open and her head on my shoulder. I held her like that for 10 minutes and when I tried to put her down she clung to me. I asked the staff about her & they said she was 5 months old, much older than the other puppies. I fell in love with her and was afraid of what might happen to her if I didn't get her since she was soon going to be too old to be little puppie cute. So I took her home.

Dear Diary:
You will never BELIEVE what happened today!!!!! My diary was selected as a diary of the day!!!!! I feel like I just won an Academy Award or somethin. I feel like I should make a speech, aahhhm
First of all I want to thank the members of the Dogster Academy and all the fans that voted for me, whoever you are. I would also like to thank all the little pups everywhere who I know look up to me. Let me just say that with a little hard work and perseverance you too can be selected for Diary of the Day. "But Gracie, your diary is so brilliant, so eloquent we could never aspire to your greatness" you might say. I say while this may be true, you can sure give it a shot.
Wow what a great speech and just listen to the thunderous applause. What a special day.

Dear Diary;
Today I had to go see Dr. Smith. Mom said I hadda get my teeth cleaned. I was shakin when Mom handed me over but you SHOULD SEE ME NOW! You can see me comin from a mile away my teeth are so white! And mom says my breath is something to behold now. Yeah I'm feelin like a million bucks. Plus Winston sent me a rose. That was pretty sweet of that Winston. I think I will send him somethin too.

Dear Diary:
All Toni can bark about is Winston. It's Winston this an Winston that. She doesn't even pay any attention to me these days. She just lays around an makes these big sighs. I think she is in love. What a bunch of crap! "Come on Toni let's play catch or I know! You tug on one end of this toy an I'll tug the other. Hey I'll even let you win." Boy will I ever be glad when Valentines day is over and things get back to normal around here.
