This is just to let everyone know that our sweet Mattie girl died this morning Jan 4, 2006 at about 10:45 AM. She has been old and slow lately as you would expect of a 13 year old Rottie. The last couple of days though she had been having difficulty getting up and walking and her breathing was getting strained. Mike and I took her to the vet this morning where they did x-rays and found that she had lung cancer. They recommended putting her down. Good girl that Mattie was she spared me having to make that difficult decision by dieing there at the vet literally moments before I had to choose what to do.

We are thankful that she got through the holidays so Wes could be with her. She had a nice Christmas and enjoyed tearing open her presents. We are also thankful to have had her for 13 wonderful years, that equates to over 100 in human years for a dog her size.

I like to believe she is with Argus running and playing in whatever special heaven God has reserved for his greatest creation.
