Arrival Story:
I looked in the classifieds and called someone who lives in . He said that he wanted a gentle home for his puppies [ferris was one of 10 puppies] and he said that anyone who even asked if the puppy was "big-boned" or "fiesty" he would hang up on them.He was impressed that I went to meet him and give me the pup. I did some "temperment testing" on him . Ferris was submissive, but not overly shy nor fearful and a he has a fair prey drive [fetchinga ball but not shaking any object like Petunia does]. He has turned out to be very loyal, obedient and great with other dogs. I am still working on his reaction to strangers...he is shy but willing to be petted when I am right next to him.

I got him to be a part of our family and a buddy to Petunia [a blue-nose]. He started out a little shy with our "pack" of 4 other dogs, but now he runs and plays just as rough as the rest in our large "dog yard" , he loves to dig in the cool dirt , eats some and roll in it. He also chews on his kong and bamboo sticks and any forbidden object until " shows him something better to chew on.At night he either sleeps in the main bed with mom n dad or or one of the various dog beds around the house if it is a hot day.He seems to be a very light brindle opatten mixed in with the "red" parts of his smooth coat. He just recently got neutered and the day after the surgery he was ready to play "rough and tumble" but no "dice" for him. He snores almost as loud as "daddy" and falls and stays asleep very easily, in contrast to Petunia who is a self appointed armed guard of our property. He is reserved about life outside our property and shows it by chewing my turn signal, cash, the parking break etc. if he does not have his rawhide readily available [if it falls under the seat]. I hope he will grow more confident about me leaving him in the car for a while (with Petunia)as he grows older and "wiser" with experience.
