Arrival Story: It was Thanksgiving weekend and I was miserable, missing my dear friend, Bear who left us in October of 2002. I grabbed my husband and daughter and said let's go see some rescue dogs. Well, my husband is thinking dogs that "rescue people"...not dogs that need to be rescued. We went to the local pound where there were hundreds of heartbreakers. Addie was sitting in the middle of cage in the dark and all you could see were these sad sad eyes. I was looking at puppies...but she tugged at my daughter's heart and then at mine. We brought her home and it was a struggle at first. She didn't trust anyone.
Bio: I wish she could have told her story...but she was always escaping from our backyard...We never scolded her, beat her or anything negative when we brought her back. We figured that was probably what was happening to her before. She eventually grew out of that habit and has become quite content and we love her to death. She's still skiddish around men, except her 'daddy. and she is WONDERFUL with children. She's vey maternal...anything small is a puppy to her!.

WOW! Mom and Dad took me and Elliott on vacay! We went to Pennsylvania to visit Aunt Debi and family. We stayed w/our furless cousins and their kids while Mom and Dad stayed at Aunt Debi's. We had fun on the long ride over...I hogged the back seat and made big ol' Elliott sit and lay on the floor..(hey...I like picking on him sometimes). When I got to Dave and Danielle's I greeted their two furry children buy showing my dominance. But Dave the dog whisperer quickly instructed me on my social graces (or lack of). They have two little furless people ages 2 and 4. I am very intrigued. Elliott is perplexed. He didn't know they came in that size. The smallest furless being kept taking his stuffed bee and wandered thru the house w/Elliott in tow. We are leaving today..sniff*...kinda like it here!
Mom and Dad have new jobs, a new home and ME and ELLIOTT have a NEW BACKYARD!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! We even have a neighbor named Kona...I'd like to get to know her better...but Elliott picked up this REEEEAAAALLLLYYY bad habit of rushing the fence and barking ferociously at her.....He started that at our old house because Coco would always antagonize him....Mom's got to break him of that!! I try, real hard! I run over and give him a good ear chewing and gnarl in his ear...(it calms him down...kinda like a pacifier..:P )
We like our new neighbors, they are all guys, all friendly and I run up to them whenever they are out. There's Jim on the right, who's elderly and Jim in the back, who's VERY elderly (92 and still gardening)...I want to steal his black raspberries when they get ripe! (Okay, I am not always good!)...and then there's Kona's Dad, Todd....he's pretty cool...and awful patient about Elliott's bad ways......whenever she's not out....Elliott has this flattened basketball that he loves to carry, roll and toss around. We really like our new digs!!!! Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!! Pee on a tree! It's SUMMER!!! :P
Mom just shakes her head...there's just no communication between me and the camera. Mom calls me a black hole because I absorb all the light. No one can see my gorgeous eyes, my personality...it just doesn't show! Oh well....at least my family loves me and sees how beautiful I am!
