Arrival Story:
Lola was picked up by animal control the day after the fourth of July. She had clearly been traumatized by the night's festivities. Naturally, they expected her family would come pick her up... but she waited and waited and no one ever came and got her! Poor baby, her heart must have been breaking. I saw her picture on petfinder.com (I was looking specifically for a Dalmatian, which is the breed I am used to.) We clicked immediately and I took her home and gave her a new start! If she ever got away from me... I would search high and low until I found her, no doubt about it!

Bio:
When I adopted the sweetheart the pound had named "Lola", I didn't know she was deaf. I wasn't surprised, because deafness is very common in Dals. When I would bang pots and pans together right behind her... she didn't even notice! So I had her hearing checked and turns out my sweetpea can't hear! So I immediately took her to special training for deaf dogs. Today we are the happiest and closest dog/human duo possible! She's my other half.

Finally I've gotten the press I deserve. I went to PGE park for the "Bark in the Park" - a baseball game that dogs get to go to. I had a good time, especially watching the food vendor walking up and down the aisle with the cracker-jacks and cotton candy. The real highlight of the day was actually after the game, however. I was laying on the couch as usual while Mom and Dad watched the evening news, and can you guess who made their TV debut during the sports segment? Me and my sister Happy! I have to admit, I'm glad I wore my pink sweater. You never know when you might get your picture taken so I try to look my best at all times. It's so hard being beautiful. Oh, and our team won, too!

May your noses be wet and your tails wiggly,
-Lola (I'll be signing autographs soon, just you wait!)

I went with my family today to the Oregon Humane Society's annual fundraiser, the "Doggie Dash," and I won third place in the "best dressed dog" contest! Finally, I get some recognition for being beautiful! I wore my pink hoodie, a hot pink party collar, and some doggles sunglasses. Hey, it's not easy being a diva!

Mom says I'm getting "round"...

Not that I really care, but Mom thinks I'm getting fat! I told her it's just that I packed a few pounds on for winter, but she thinks it's more than that. Now she is constantly trying to get me to excersize, and she even had the nerve to put me on a diet! And I have to admit, in retaliation I figured out how to open my food bin and I've been sneaking snacks while she's at work. It would have worked if I had figured out how to close the bin afterwards... it's kinda obvious that I was in trouble when she came home and the bin was open, knocked over, and of course... empty. Okay, maybe I do have a "problem." I can't help it, I love food like Happy loves tennis balls! If only I could get to the treat jar on top of the refrigerator...

May your noses be wet and your tails wiggly,
-Lola the round Dalmatian
