Leave a bone for Brianna

Nicknames: Bri Bri, Miss Universe, Mama, Mamita

Quick Bio:
Likes: She loves to be on my lap, belly rubs and to cuddle next to me when we sleep. She also LOVES to be blow-dried (but not bathed- go figure...)!

Pet-Peeves: She really hates vacuum cleaners! She barks at them every time.... She also loves to bark at the ducks and birds and keep watch on the balcony.... One more thing- she does not jump on the furniture or the bed. She prefers to be picked up and placed there!

Favorite Toy: The "plus-plush" toy I call it. She loves to play tug of war!

Favorite Food: She loves her Science Diet small bites, as long as it's mixed with Puertorican white rice.... :)

Favorite Walk: We love to take strolls in the park and alongside the pond (where she can try to chase the duckies away!).

Arrival Story: Brianna came into my life at barely 8 weeks old. When I met her at a wonderful puppy and kitty nursery, she had a sign that said "Please do not pet me. I'm too little yet." HOW CUTE! I could not resist those big beautiful eyes and the tiny little thing she was.... She was cleared three days later and was given the go to be adopted! She is one of the best things that life has brought to me.

Bio: According to Brianna's Certificate of Pedigree, she was born into a family of champions. Her parents were Royale Rambo and Royale Becky. Her grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandparents were all champion showdogs. I was told that she was passed on to be a pet and not a show dog because of how little she is (she is almost an inch shorter than show dog requirement height). I guess this explains why her demeanor is so calm and peaceful (hence the nickname "Miss Universe"!).

My mommy may want to start by my beginning but I want to start from the Hurricanes. First came Charley. I was excited because we were going to grandma's house. I love car rides and going to visit grandma. I love sight seeing, period!
Anyway, back to Charley. I remember going outside and the wind blowing harder than usual. I stuck my nose out to the wind (that's what I normally do, anyway) and I looked at mommy to question her. She just told me to do my pee-pee and quickly (she always does that). Then we went inside. I was sleeping when he hit. I woke up scared and went to mommy's lap. So did my sister, Tala. The wind was howling and I was trembling.... But mommy said we are OK, it's a hurricane, and it will pass.... Then mommy and grandma started scrambling because there was water coming in through the bathroom. I could see they were scared, too. And so were grandma's three dogs.
The next day, we went outside and I stuck my nose to the wind again. It was calm and I could see grandma worried walking around the yard. I could feel the air was different and there were things on the ground that weren't supposed to be there. But mommy made sure I walked to the safe spots. I love my mommy!
Then came Frances. Mommy told my sister and me that we were going to a shelter and that other dogs were going, too. Yay! I like meeting new friends! Anyway, we ended up going to the school that mommy works at. It was fun because I got to meet and play with new buddies. I didn't hear the wind howling or the rain pounding this time. But, every time mommy went to the grownup bathroom, she told everyone that she could hear the wind and the rain on the rooftop. I just stayed with my sister Tala, played and slept.
I did not like it because, after mommy took us outside to the bathroom on Saturday, we couldn't go outside until Sunday afternoon! And, I am sorry, I am NOT using the newspaper that grandma put out for the 5 of us. Where's the grass? I want the grass! I was good. I did not have one accident the whole time. I kept it and held it and was VERY glad when mommy said, "Yay! Babies, let's go outside to pee-pee and coo-coo!" Ahhhhhh....
Then came Jeanne. Grandma was in Puerto Rico so mommy had to doggy sit the 5 of us at grandma's house. I missed grandma but I stayed with mommy all the time. Mommy got sick after Frances and she is still a little sick. Something about bronchitis.... I don't like to see her that way so I snuggle by her and comfort her.
Anyway, back to Jeanne. Once again, we went outside the night before. Mommy did not sleep all night long. The phone kept ringing at all hours. A lot of people called to check up on all of us, especially grandma. And mommy kept getting up and checking if water was coming into the house. It did, but not alot like with Charley. Once again, the winds were howling and the rain kept coming. Mommy kept telling me it was going to be OK. But she didn't sleep for two days! We did. We all slept really close to her.
As soon as she saw that we could go outside the next day, we did. It was really scary, though, because the wind wanted to knock me over! My nose really shot up in the air that time! And so did all of the gray and white hairs on my body! And mommy wanted me to hurry up! Mommy, why did grandma nickname me, "Miss Universe"? Isn't it because I love taking my time and strolling in the sun and grass?
Once again, I am not going on the newspaper the other dogs go on! I neeed my grass!
Hurricanes are scary! Mommy, are we done with them yet?
