Bio:
My mom was a Rhodesian ridgeback (which I don’t really look like) and my poppa was a “rolling stone” so I’m a little confused when it comes to describing “what I am”… what I can say is that I have many Rhodesian traits (counter surfer, independent, etc…) but I look more like some kind of Shepard/collie mix. In any event I’m cute as hell so does it really matter?!? Anyway, so there I was… in the Sonoma county humane society. Hanging out, minding my own business when all of a sudden there was this flurry/commotion. Everyone was barking, jumping around in their kennels making a hell of a racket?!?!? Not sure what was up, I just sat there waiting to see who/what was going to make its way down the isle, and when I saw them my heart skipped a beat as I knew my mom and dad were there in front of me!!! Immediately I sat up looking at them wagging my tail, heart pounding, thinking “where have you been?!?!? Get me out of this place, my neighbors are giving me a headache!!!!”. Dad knew it too, but mom was being a little hesitant for some reason. Anyway, dad got the shelter guy to let me out into the “play yard” on the side; I was so happy I forgot all about them and ran around like a crazy woman, sniffing everything trying to eat every rock I could find… hey I was only a puppy. Any way for whatever reason they left me there?!?!?!? Can you imagine how sad I felt?!?!? Anyway come to find out, mom was having some kind of issue admitting that I was her long lost puppy so they left me there to go have lunch and when they came back a few hours later they just missed the 5pm closing hour. Anyway, the very next day dad called the Sonoma SPCA only to find out that two other people had “put me on hold” and that they had first and second dibs on me. The next four days would be some of the longest of my life... Unknown to mom, dad had been calling every day to check up on my “on hold status” and well… to make a long story short, as fate would have it, both people flaked (whew…). So with out telling mom, dad skipped out of work early and made the hellish Friday afternoon commute from Sunnyvale to Sonoma County on that Friday. To make maters worse, there was a brush fire on the side of 101 that almost made him miss closing time again!!!! With only a few minutes to spare he claimed my at 4:45pm Friday afternoon. Good thing to cause someone else had put a hold on me after dad as well!!! Anyway, the ride home wasn’t much better, I got car sick in my crate three times. But like any self respecting dog… (hungry to boot) I remember the golden rule of “waste not, want not”… so after each car sickness episode, I quickly “recycled” what I had just barfed. Funny, dad didn’t seem to think that was so cool, he looked really funny when I did that. Anyway, by 7:45pm that evening I was home and the rest is history…. Sonoma
