We knew something was wrong as soon as we woke up. Bubbles was breathing heavily and couldn't calm down. We were on our way to the vet's office when she passed away in the car. My son was holding her at her last, so thank God she didn't go alone. Our hearts are broken right now, but we will always remember how she filled them with love for 13+ years. We will miss her more than words can say.
This is Bubbles' Mommy....sorry for the delay in updating Bubbles' diary, but it's been a busy week. The good news is that Bubbles came home last Saturday from her extended stay at the vet due to her kidney issues. At first she was still a little lethargic, but as a few days passed she started to seem like her old healthy self again!! We had a follow up visit at the vet's office on Wednesday and we learned that her BUN level had gone down all the way to 58 from a high of > 100 during her hospitalization. That's not yet normal, but the vet feels she WILL make a full recovery. She has a special diet (Mommy is cooking for her) and needs SQ fluids 2x/week for now.
We both want to thank the DOGSTER community for all the well-wishes, gifts, and especially the prayers.
