Dosage adjustment

Hi All,

What a relief it has been the medication that sis was giving me made me felt even more sick than I originally was. Initially they were giving me 2 tablets twice a day and it made me extremely thirsty and uncomfortable. I swear I could have died from over drinking... (water)

So now that I'm taking 1 tablet twice a day, I'm not drinking as much, I can finally eat. Sis and mum still fuss over me though, saying that my blood level hasn't increased and that I need to eat more red meat and high protein stuff to build up my blood levels.

Human's are so silly sometimes so much fuss just to get me to eat. Well, I guess being hand fed isn't all that bad. I've always hated having to lick food out of my bowl. So much work for my tongue and half the time the food smells horrible and tastes disgusting. Not to mention it gets my mouth all dirty!

Coming from the hands of someone however, the food seems to tastes much better!! I can't get enough of it!

I over heard mum and sis discussing the other day that it might be easier to hand feed me than to wait for me to finish my food and often leaving lots of wastage. Hell Yea!! Took them long enough to decide that!

Human's are quite dumb, it takes them ages to figure out what us dogs want and more often than not they get it wrong. Whereas us dogs however, we get it straight away!

Well, I'm finally getting my appetite back which is good, i can see sis and mum worry less now that I am eating. As much as I dislike them fussing so much over me, I also don't want them to worry for me.

I remember on the 1st night when I was diagnosed with possible cancer I had to keep sis company in her room because she was so upset. It seemed to make her feel better that I was there with her. It was not a comfortable sleep! She kept waking me up!!

Ah well, anything to give her a peace of mind I guess. The sacrifices us dogs do for our loved ones.

Ultrasound results

Hey I'm back,

Feeling much better today except that there wasn't any breakfast this morning even though I was STARVING!!

Sis took me to the vet today. I had a blast! Got to stay there for a bit longer than on Friday and that wore me out quite a bit so I had to take a nap after I came back.

So the results from what sis and the vet was talking about was that the ultrasound didn't find any traces of tumour, but there was something wrong with my splin rejecting the red blood cells thinking it was a foreign object. She also said it's not known why my body is rejecting the blood cells it could be because I am allergic to something and it could be from anything even insect bites. Stupid insects.. you wait you wait...

So, Sis and the family seemed very relieved which is good, they can stop fussing over me as much now. I still don't have much appetite, but sis is good she made me beef meatballs tonight and I had some liver and more of that yucky lactade solution and medicine. Yucks!

Apparently, I have to go back for blood tests over the next couple of days to check on my blood level. It was very low last Friday when I went in. The vet said if it had gone down to 12 or something I would need a blood transfusion and last friday I was down to 24. Too close for comfort!

Anyway, I have the best of care from sis and the family so I think I should be fine from now on. I just got to make sure I don't exert too much because that wears me out a lot especially when I don't eat.

Well, I'm tired again... I best get going. I'll keep you all posted on the next update. The vet says I look better today, my blood level has gone up to 40 from 24.

P.S the vet really gave everyone a scare... I think everyone should be able to rest better tonight after knowing that I don't have cancer. Phew...

4 years later... (Monday 14th June 2010)

Hey all,

Sorry it's taken such a long time to write another entry. Things have been really great, lots of fun times, walks, beaches, new places, more toys and new friends I've met over the course of the past 4 years.

I'm a lot older now, things have slowed down, but on good days I really enjoy spending time playing in the backyard with sis. She still makes me lovely treats and pampers me heaps.

Though she always complains I'm spoilt and I'm fussy. I'm not fussy!! I just know what I want!!

Well, I guess firstly I've got a little bad news. I'm kinda sick.

On the 10th June 2010 things felt a bit off, I didn't feel too well and I didn't feel like eating. So thought I'd sleep on it a little maybe I'll feel better the next day.

Then the follow day after my walk dad says he noticed that my pee was very redish in colour and sis booked an appointment with the vet immediately. The test results of the urine sample came out that there were unusually high levels of red blood cells or something.. you know technical terms... dogs and my sis alike don't know much about such stuff, but it wasn't good news.

The vet said he suspects it could be tumour in the liver, but that didn't mean anything to me at the time. I was more interested in the dog in the next room at the clinic. I love going to that place!! It's awesome!

So anyway, they took a sample of my blood and on saturday 12th June 2010 the results apparently was inconclusive and I'd need an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday 15th June 2010 which is tomorrow.

I haven't eaten much, but sis have been fussing all over me for the past couple of days. Sometimes I'd wish she'd just let me rest and stop disturbing my sleep! Same goes for mum when she's in the kitchen chopping away!! I'm grouchy cos I'm tired!

Though the upside is, sis has been making lots of home cooked food for me. Yummy roast chicken, roast beef, potatoes, toasts all sorts, but I really don't have much of an appetite. She hand feed me most of the time now, she says I have to eat so I eat a little for her.

She also keeps feeding me these lactade solution and medicine which tastes disgusting!! She says it's suppose to make me feel better so I entertain her by eating it. It's better than having it forced down my throat. Yes... I'm a good boy....:) I have always been and will always be a good boy.

Anyway, I'm tired now. I'll update you tomorrow after my ultrasound. I should rest a bit more before sis give me anymore of that yucky tasting stuff again.

Yup yup, today is my bday. I am finally 4 years old!!! I remember I celebrated my 1st bday with Sis before she went overseas to work.

Sis finally came back from overseas this year and I think she's back for good Too!! That means MORE treats, more play, and MORE TOYS!!! Yuppie!!!

I woke up this morning totally not remember that it was my bday. I kind of find it weird when I received a slice of homecooked cake as my treat before Sis went to work.

After she went to work, Dad woke up in the afternoon and took me out for a walk and run in the park. He gave me extra playtime with me too. That really made me very tired and hungry.

To my surprise, sis came back from work in the afternoon and started singing happy bday to me!! That's when I knew it was my bday!! Silly me. Hee hee.
Sis also gave me another slice of cake when she came back and GUESS WHAT?!!?! I GOT A NEW BALL!!!! It's SO COOL! It makes those funny sounds but I can't seem to get the thing inside that makes that funny sound!! Grrr it's so frustrating, but it gives me a good back rub when I roll over it though. Heh Heh. We played heaps until mum called us in for dinner that's when I had to stop.

I had a real bday treat for dinner. I had homecooked Roast turkey with Rice. Yum Yum!! and for dessert I had another slice of CAKE!!!

I think I'll be having a really good nights sleep tonight. I had lots of treats, fun and games and nice cooked dinner. I have a new ball with me by my side to sleep with. What more can I ask for? Do you think I'll dream of more cake tonight?

Today was so full of activities I don't even know where to begin. So I'll start from this morning. Well went for my usual walk this morning with dad and then Sis woke up and gave me a grooming followed by those fantastic biscuit things she bought yesterday. I had 5 of them! Yum!

After that she played ball with me for awhile and then dad did some gardening and I went out to spend some time with him. Just so that you know, I got a new neighbour just across the street. It's a small pup, not too sure what breed it was so I wanted to go take a look, but dad told me to stay. So I wasn't able to go.

After lunch I had a bath. Really needed that cos I was starting to stink. hee hee. Not to mention that the shampoo was different and tasted much better than the rest. Sis keeps telling me off for licking it though. It was some oatmeal and aloe vera shampoo. Smelled rather good though. Bet I'll attract more babes now huh?

After the bath sis and I wrestled on the ground a bit. Well, I was wrestling but sis was trying to dry me up. *grin*

Later in the afternoon, uncle Lee and Kee came over. They were looking at the patio roof. Hope they fix it soon cos my bed got wet by the thunderstorm last night! Not a pleasant feeling!

Anyway, they left shortly and sis played ball with me and groomed me again and gave me lots of hugs and kisses and said something about her going back to Singapore tomorrow and asking me to take good care of myself and look after mum and dad. Kinda sad to hear that cos' that'll mean no one will play with me and my life will return back to the normal routine again before she came back. Sigh.

Well, I'll just have to settle for my daily walks with dad and gardening time outside then. Not too bad at least I do have company every now and then. I'll miss her dearly though. Looks like the greenball and the lovely new non abrasive brush is my birthday gift this year. Better than nothing I'd say.

At least I got a really good brush! It's so comfortable that I fell asleep while grooming!!

Guess I better sign out here. Probably won't have anymore interesting entries after this for awhile. Not until Sis comes back anyway.

Finally a walk around the neighbourhood

Today I finally got my walk after what seems like a century since we moved into this new place.

The neighbourhood isn't as nice as the previous one, but there are many neighbours. I even had a chance to meet up with the local cat whom I chased down the road. Heh Heh. Dad wasn't too pleased after that though. I was sent back inside the house because of that.

Later in the afternoon, my family and I went out for a drive to this fruit farm where mum, dad and sis bought something called Persimmons. It's an orangy looking fruit but tastes very sweet. Yum.

Well, it's raining heavily now and it's very windy as well.. heard something about a thunderstorm... that don't sound good. At least I'm indoors now where it's nice and warm and I'm with the family.

Sis also bought me this new tasting biscuit that tastes and smells FANTASTIC!! Wish I can have more. hee hee

Well, looks like today was a great day after all. If only I don't have to go outside to sleep tonight. That would make my day complete.

Settling in

Well, after a few days of hustling and bustling with house moving. Mum, dad and SSis. seems to have settled into their new place. It's a bit smaller than the previous place and not to mention the place leaks water when it rains and floor is dirty there's dirt everywhere.

I don't mind though.. more places to dig. Hee Hee Hee I find new treasures buried in the sand everyday. Somehow sis isn't too pleased about that though. She's always telling me not to do it, but it's soooo... fun...!

Anyway, it has been a few days since I last went for a walk. I wonder when I'll finally get my walk? Sigh... I guess I should be glad that Sis is around now since she plays with me heaps and when I get into trouble she'll always be the first one to comfort me. Come to think of it, I got told off by everyone today for exploring too far from home. I didn't mean to go too far, just that our new neighbours seem interesting.

Oh yea, my bday is coming soon. I was born on the 31st of May 3 years ago. I wonder what I'll get this time with Sis back home. I didn't get anything when she wasn't around last year. Looking forward this year, she always gives me nice treats and surprises. I've been getting a lot of under the table snacks too. hee hee. It's great having her around. Mum's kinda jealous that I've been having so much fun with her.

Well... this is my first entry. Let's hope tomorrow will be as interesting as today.
