Romeo's World

Romeo nearly died!

Last night I gave the dogs a dental snack to chew on. Romeo chews about half of it and then decided to swallow the other half. The big piece got lodged in his throat and he could not breath. He was foaming at the mouth and his tongue and gums were turning purple from lack of oxygen. I lifted him up in the air hanging him from his back legs and attempted the doggie heimlich manuver which was unsuccessful. He was about ready to die and I knew I had no time to take him to the emergency clinic so I started digging my hands down his throat. At the last minute I finally was able to grab the snack and pull it out! As soon as it came out his tongue and gums returned to pink and he was exhausted but OK. Aries then picked up the dental snack and ate it!! Today I had to go to the doctor and get my hand stitched up and bandaged from all the bite wounds from when I was reaching down his throat to grab the snack. Romeo went to the vet and everything checked out OK with him. I think I am in worst shape then him but at least he is alive!!

Dermatologist visit

Romeo went to the animal dermatologist today. He has allergies and has to get weekly injections at home. The vet examined him and has very happy with the progress of his skin. He is a lot less itchy and red since he has started the allergy shots.

Disney World

We had to leave our pets behind while we went to Disney World. We had a good trip but missed them very much. At Disney World we bought Romeo a mickey mouse rubber dog toy and a mickey mouse charm for his collar. We have been back for 2 days and he has not put the mickey mouse toy down yet!
