Arrival Story: Always said I'd never get a dog from a pet store, but that's where I got struck by the thunderbolt. I saw her, left the store, had dreams about her (that's how her name came to me), and one month later, I was back at the store paying an absolutely exorbitant price for her (about twice what a breeder would charge). I wasn't really in a position to keep a dog, and had to hide her from the landlord who lived in the same condo building. Thanks to a couple of excellent daycare facilities, I was able to give her the extra companionship and exercise she deserved. Every morning when I wake up and she's cuddled up beside me, I am thankful for another day with Georgie. See lots of pics at www.theanimalsandi.com!

Bio: All dogs are so unique, but Georgie is not quite what one would expect from a Bulldog. While she does have a mind of her own, she listens to me and does what I ask...ok, sometimes I have to give her explanations. We walk in even the most crowded places and on city sidewalks without a leash. When we cross a road, I tell her "quicker" or "hurry up" and she trots as fast as she can. She plays fetch even on hot summer days, keeping up to Labs and sometimes outdoing them. She can jump up about 4 feet in the air, and in a 20 foot sprint, only the fastest dogs can beat her. She's 42lbs (the proper weight for a female), fairly lean, and she's the undisputed tug-o-war champ. Even the park's alpha male 105lb German Shepherd didn't stand a chance. Although she doesn't like rain and baths, she does love swimming, sprinklers and hoses. I can speak to her in plain English like I'm talking to a 4 year old, and always figures out what I'm trying to tell her. People who know us well, have said that she's a beautiful dog, both inside and out. I love her so much, that when I try to go away for a vacation, *I* get separation anxiety and usually come back sick!
