Arrival Story:
We rescued Ruby when she was 8 weeks old. She was being abused by a standard poodle. She weighed a whopping one pound four ounces. She was such a delight. One afternoon as she lay in the sun on our livingroom floor at 6 months old she had a seizure. It was the worst experience of my life, for the next year she experienced many seizures, lots of cluster seizures. In 2003 I continued to do more reseaarch on canine epilepsy and found a different combination of drugs to give her that might give her some relief. She has done really well on this combo. Last week we received some sad news from our vet. Ruby now has Hyperthyroidism. More meds...Our vet said that this is the beginning of the end. My heart is so heavy and I am very sad. Ruby is my best friend, she is my everything. I hope that we will have her for a long time but...
