Arrival Story: I was volunteering at Petsmart on the weekend, and sometimes the local shelter brings a couple of dogs who are having trouble getting adopted to the store. My mom dropped me off and spotted her on the way out. She had just been brought into the shelter and they named her Lazy because she was extremely depressed from being caged and abused in her previous home. They said she was specifically afraid of men, because she had supposedly been badly abused by one. She was dirty and her hair was very long and shaggy, but my mom went right up to her and looked at her big, beautiful, brown eyes and immediatley fell in love with her. She showed her to me and asked me if I was ready to finally have a dog after asking for one my whole life. I was ecstatic and we took her home that day. She was a little shy and quiet at first, but we cleaned her up and gave her a trim, and she was the most beautiful dog in the world. Within a week, she was the happiest, friendliest dog I had ever met. I felt so blessed to have her and I could not imagine my life without her now. There are no words to describe how amazing and smart she is. She wakes up every morning and has such an enthusiasm for life. She loves dogs, cats and just about any other animals, and with a little reassurance and an approval from mommy, she loves most people too.

Bio: If you are looking for a great dog, you do not necessarily have to go to a pet store. I adopted my dog from an amazing facility called the Irvine Animal Shelter in Irvine, California. If you are in the area, go check it out. They have an amazing variety of animals including dogs, cats, rodents, bunnies and even reptiles.
