My Mom told me that I should really write more to everyone instead of just when I get sick or hurt! But I wanted to share with all of my furry friends what I've been up to. A few weeks ago my Daddy discovered a lump on the side of my head. Of course my Mommy freaked out instantly and was running around everywhere trying to find out what it was. I didn't even know I had it! Well, a few days later my Mommy asked my Nana if she could take me to see nice Dr. Bailey and have it looked at. Well, Dr. Bailey stuck this pointy thing in it and said that it had "organized cells," which at first really made my Nana upset and worried. But I could tell she didn't want me to worry...so she waited to call my Mommy until she got home. Dr. Bailey wanted to do surgery the next week to remove it ! Surgery!! Not again!

So, 5 days later, Dr. Bailey removed the mass on the side of my head. I didn't feel good for a few days, but everyone took care of me and gave me extra special treats. I overheard my Mommy telling my Nana that she was really worried about getting the "results" back from the surgery in 10 days. I was a little worried too.

Well, 10 days later, and Dr. Bailey called to tell my Mommy that everything was going to be ok. I had what is called "trichoblastoma" a cancer of the hair follicle. Well, it's benign and does not metastasize and that's all my Mommy needed to hear!!! Dr. Bailey said that it should not come back and that everything should be fine. So, now that I just got my stitches out...it's time to sit back and enjoy the TLC from all of my family and give lots of kisses back. I am going to be ok!!

Just wanted you to all know that I am doing wonderful after my patella repair surgery. My mom still worries a little when I run around really crazy on her wood floors...she's worried I am going to "luxate" the other patella! I tell her not to worry so much. I am back to normal and happy and loving life! Hope everyone has a terrific Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love,
Bentley

Patella Surgery

My name is Bentley. I am 4 1/2 years old. My Mom loves me very much. Last week I had to have Orthopedic surgery to fix a luxated patella. My Mom thought I might have a broken bone, but boy was she wrong! My nice vet doctor, Dr. Bailey said we needed to do surgery right away. So, my Mom brought me in the next day and I had surgery. It's been eight days and I am doing pretty well. You can't beat all the attention I am getting right now. I love it! I get carried around everywhere by my Mom, hand fed my food and treats and I even get to sleep in my cozy crate at night! Usually, she let's me sleep with her, but not for now, while I have that thing on my head! It helps me not too lick my incision...something I would love to do! I'll keep you furry friends posted on my progress. Gotta go for now! Oprah's on!
