Goodbye Blackie

We lost our Kitty sister today at the vet. She was 21 years old. Mom is sad, so I am, too. I will miss you Blackie, Rest in Peace.

2nd Dog

I've been playing 2nd dog to Phoebe. First she was gone for a whole day and I was worried, then she came home all sickly and has been kept in a separate little pen, at night. She's getting more attention just cuz she had sugery on her eye. Mom's holding her more and gets after me if I try to play with Phoebe or lick her eye. I just want to know what that big thing on her head is. She looks like a cone-head and can't even fit through our doggie door. Mom does give me the same treats though. We can't play together for a while. I hope she gets those stitches out soon, so I can rough her up a bit! LuLu

We Won the LIFE/AOL Pet Costume Contest!

Little did our mom know, that when she posted our pic, on AOL, in our Yoda and Darth Vader costumes, we would win 1st prize and be in a magazine! We just thought it was a cute place to post Halloween pets. Watch for us in the LIFE magazine insert of many major newspapers on 11/24/06. We'll also be on their website: LIFE.com

Happy Halloween!

Our Mom took up to a costume contest at Petsmart yesterday and we got 2nd place! I posted our pics in the costumes. I think I look scary as Darth Vader!
Phoebe looks more like Yoda than he does himself!
We also got our pictures taken at Petropolis and got some gift and goodie bags there, last Saturday! Mom got a phone call that we won a gift basket in a drawing, too! Petropolis is our favorite store.
I think there's still more fun to come before Halloween!!

On Vacation!

I'm at my grandparents house in Montana right now, having a great time. There are lots of squirrels and wild turkeys to bark at. My mom doesn't let me wander off because she's afraid I'll get in trouble with a bear or mountain lion or something. I met a friend, she is one of the neighbors 3 great pyrenees dogs. They're sort of guard dogs. Only the puppy, Kyla, comes over to play with me. She has to go through a creek and up a mountain to see me, it's pretty far so she must really like to play with me! She is pretty big so Phoebe gets a little worried when we play. Phoebe growls at her and tries to bite her sometimes. Kyla is not even a year old yet, but she's a big dog. Her paw is about the size of my head! One day we went to the "Bark Park" in Missoula, that is a really nice dog park. There is a river to swim in, and it's on a little island. There were lots of big dogs swimming and I did a little, but was more comfortable with my feet touching the ground. I guess I'm more of a "wader". Bark at You Soon! LuLu

Midge's 1st Birthday Pawty!

Today is my pal Midge's birthday, she is 1 year old. But, last night was the party and it was awesome. It was fun for all the people and dogs. We even had dog cake (big hit) and our parents had their own cake for humans. There were treats and gift bags and dinner for the people. I swam in a pool for the first time! We played until we were pooped! Midge even had hand towels in the bathroom with her picture on them. She is truly the Paris Hilton of canines. Thanks for having us over Midge, your parents are cool! Million Dollar Baby!!

Good news, my surgery will be the less complicated version, no cutting up my little femurs. Bad news, my mom will have to try and keep me quiet and inactive for about 6 wks and low activity for another 2-4 wks. They better give her some good drugs for me cuz that will be virtually impossible. It costs alot, but luckily my mom is able to do it. She calls me her "million dollar baby".
I'm a product of bad breeding (puppy mill). Mom bought me at a pet store that sells a lot of purebred puppies, many with problems. (she found out later)
Please rescue or get your dogs from a reputable breeder. My mom knows better now. Shelters and rescue groups are full of doggies like me with problems their owners can't afford, or don't want to deal with. We will wait till after our vacation to Montana to do the surgery, so I'll be able to enjoy my trip!
