I was so worried about Kelsey yesterday, I just had to break into the garbage again. Can you blame me? Kelsey's paw has been hurting her for a few days now, but she was trying hard not to let it show (she was worried Mommy and Daddy would take her to the vet's office). Despite her great efforts, Mommy and Daddy did notice, so when Mommy came home from work early yesterday, I knew this was it. Kelsey was going to the doctor. Poor Kelsey. She really doesn't like going to the vet's office. I was left at home. Alone. To worry about Kelsey. I paced. And paced. And waited by the window. There just didn't seem like there was anything I could do to help. And the worrying was killing me. So, I did the only thing I knew would take my mind off of it. I got into the trash. When Mommy brought Kelsey home, I was so glad to see both of them. Kelsey looked to be OK. But oh boy was Mommy mad at me for getting into the garbage. Good think I was able to be cute!

The trouble with trouble is that ususally, 9 times out of 10, trouble is worth getting into. The benefits far outweigh the costs. Which is what happened last night. You see, I love the trash. I can't help myself. It is so good. So yummy. Daddy has tried everything he can think of to keep me out of the trash during the day. But, and let's be honest here, does he really think he can outsmart a determined Lab? He'll learn.
So, Tuesday night, Mommy had some delicious wings from her favorite wing place. They smelled sooooooo good. She didn't share a single piece with me or Kelsey. But we had the last laugh. She forgot to take the trash out yesterday morning. So, shortly after she and Daddy left, Kelsey and I huddled, agreed that I would open the door and pull the trash can out. She'd knock it over. And we'd both be digging for gold! Flawless plan. Until it comes time to cleanup. For some reason, the powers that be didn't give dogs the tools (or hands or thumbs) to clean up after we've made a mess. So, after our bellies were full of chicken bones, paper, and other goodies, we lounged on the sofas waiting for the inevitable. The rath of Daddy. Good thing Mommy got home first. She has a tendency to be a little softer on us. So, we got to go outside first, and we thought we were free. No one noticed we were naughty! Until we came back inside. And Daddy was home. Oh boy. Were we in trouble!
Today, in the aftermath, both Kelsey and I are feeling quite sick. But again, the trouble with trouble....all I can think about is the yummy taste of those wings still on my lips. I'd do again in a second!
