Arrival Story:
Adena came from the pound; she was the cutest, most alert and most interesting puppy (only about 5 or 6 months old then) in the cage. Adena spent her first several years on college campuses, where she often waited outside the buildings as Mommy went into class. She was the "darling" of all of the students passing by, because she was so cute. She was the "Sagatini's" dog, helping Mommy deliver pizzas around the Centre College campus, and everyone loved her. For a while we lived in Canada together and she was absolutely fearless -- she didn't mind fighting her way through snow that was piled higher than she was tall. She absolutely loved chasing -- and catching -- the Frisbee and was better at it than many other dogs I've seen on TV. But Adena wasn't in it for the glory -- it was just her favorite game.

Bio:
Adena isn't with us anymore. She had to give up chasing the Frisbee when she was about 14 (she hurt her shoulder on a bad fall), but she continued to be a loving and affectionate pet. Her last few years were tough ones, as she fought cancer. She died in October of 1993, having reached the age of 16, almost 17, years. She had a long and interesting life and got to see and do a lot of neat things. And she was loved!
