Turkey Day

I was so sad when I saw mommy leave to go visit grandma, grandpa, my aunt and uncle and their three little two leggers. I just stood on the couch hanging my paws over it and watched her drive away. I know she said she would be back tomorrow. Boy, tomorrow sure is a long way away. So after I stopped moaping I layed down for a nap. I woke up suddenly when the door opened. Guess who? Mommy! Boy I sure was happy. She looked sad so I did what I do best. I gave her plenty of hugs and kisses. She told me the roads were too bad to try to make it down today. May be tomorrow we can go as a family she told me. I hope they kept some extra turkey for us. I'd sure like that, alot. No skin of course, I have to keep my girlish figure. Us bassets are known to be a little chunky. I'm not going to fall for that genetic predisposition idea. You are what you eat. Betsey and I like to eat ham, hence mommy calls us ham bones. She says it has something to do with how silly we act. I admit we are pretty silly.

So me and Betsey experienced our first snow yesterday. It sure is fun to run around and play in. I like eating it too. It's not as good as ice cream, but it will do. (no, we don't eat the yellow snow!) Betsey and I both just played and played in the fresh snow. I like the stuff all except for the cold feet, especially today! It was really cold. Hope the cold doesn't last long here in Michigan.
