Doomer Dog, Brat Boy, and later on, Old Man,
Boomer liked to round up our beef cows, play fetch...balls were his favorite...then sticks. He love to go for rides and go for swims in the river.
anyone that didn't play with him!!!
balls of any brand and he sure liked to play with his Stryker kitty(pictured with him)
Anything he could get his teeth into...table food was the best!!!!
Boomer wanted to be anywhere we were.
We had lost dog two weeks prior to my mother needing heart surgery. I came home from work one day and said to my husband that it was quiet...I NEED a dog. I had never lived without one. I asked him about breeds...we looked in the paper and all were not good enough and he didn't want a lap dog...I saw blue heeler puppies...Kevin said they were a good dog. We called, drove over a 100 miles to look at the last two male dogs...it was love!!! We wanted to look at the other one as well...I wanted both!!! The mother dog had a habbit of taking one of the puppies and hiding it...Boomer came from a working farm and was over weight from cows milk...we took him home. He played so hard and then he would stop and fall right in his tracks...thus the name, Boomer. We never did find out if he was a pure ACD or a mix...Boomer left us April 1, 2003...he sure was a good boy and will be missed!
Boomer was the first dog I ever had that would let a robber rob our house...as long as the robber played fetch, he would have been fine with it...it sure was a good thing we never were robbed...hahaha Boomer and my mom's bearded collie had puppies together...we did keep one of them. He is very much a cattle dog too!
