Hi, I'm Emma! What I like to do best is to spend time with my mutti and daddy, whether we're riding around in the big beast that smells funny called a "car" or if I am snuggled safe and sound in between them on the bed!
Pet-Peeves:
I hate those things called "bicycles"--What are those funny things? They look like humans but they have wheels. Creeeppy.
Favorite Toy:
I used to have this great frog toy made out of latex, but then I got bored one day and chewed it up! Favorite toy? Never for long!!
Favorite Food:
Anything that I am not technically allowed to have. It tastes even better when it's fallen on the floor! ;)
Favorite Walk:
I like to walk anywhere that has a great vantage point of my turf--you know, I am constantly on patrol to protect my parents' "estate!" I also like to walk up to my mutti's college so that I can be lavished with attention!
Best Tricks:
My parents would say that it is how well-behaved I *can* be in public--but I would say it's my feisty ability to ward off anyone who even steps foot on our block!!
Arrival Story:
Whoa, my life story? Well, up until I was a year old, I lived with some people who weren't very nice to me. It seems that they didn't do their homework and they payed a lot of money for a dog like me who's got good "jeans" (I guess they mean those things my daddy wears? though I don't think I have any jeans! my mutti says it's "genes"--still don't know what those are!) but then they didn't know how to take care of me properly. They didn't feed me well, and they kept me locked up all the time. I never got to meet any other dogs or humans. My parents also say that I probably grew too fast for them! Then, some nice people from a "Human Society" (or maybe it's Humane? But they were humans) came and rescued me and took me to this scary kennel with all these other dogs that made me feel tense! I went home twice with families who had children, but they both brought me back. I didn't know what children were yet and they made me feel tense, too! The Human Society said that I was aggressive and unsocialized and that I would be hard to adopt--but, I tell you, I was just plain scared! But then, one day, my mutti and daddy came and picked me up, and they drove me back to Wisconsin and I have been here for almost two years. Now, humans, dogs, cats, and children don't make me tense--instead I am very calm and happy around them! But those bicycles--man, I don't think I'll ever get used to them!
Bio:
Our baby girl passed away on Feb. 7th, 2008. Even with an elevated dish and supervised feeding, our dearest hound developed bloat. Please know the symptoms and take care when feeding your dane! We will miss her forever and ever. She was an amazing girl. :(

So, I haven't written about my new baby brother yet, but it's not because I don't love him!! Mutti has just been so busy chasing him that she hasn't had time to type for me. My new brother is the bestest brother in the whole wide world - except when he chews on my ears and gums, that gets kind of annoying. But, otherwise, he's great to play with!! We run, we jump, we chase balls together. Mutti and daddy think it's so cute because we even sleep together! I am so very happy that Ruutu came to live with us!

I turned 3 yesterday!! Yay for me!!
We went to Petco today, and I was very good while I had my nails clipped. I had snagged my dew claw and it was kind of painful, so I am glad we went. I got birthday cookies, and met a very sweet puppy that makes me want to have one of my own. :) I was very patient and good the whole time, except when this pompous English bulldog came in OFF LEASH and strutted around like he owned the place! Then, I had to bark...I just HAD to.
Sigh. Mutti wasn't happy then, however.
So, we left Petco and then we went to Gander Mountain. I was VERY good there, good as gold, and I got to eat all my cookies on the way home. I love it when I get to go places with mutti and daddy!
I didn't get to go to the dog park today due to the weather, but I am hoping to go tomorrow. I saw Sarge the other day, the GSD puppy I met a couple months ago, and he is getting BIG. I can't wait until he's my size for playing. A friend at last! I am so eager to make more friends, and soon.
