Java lost her fight to hang on the next day - June 18 - before she could she goodbye to mom. Mom misses her dearly and thinks about her every day. Java, on the other hand, is busy happily chasing deer and sun bathing in doggie heaven.

Trying to hang on

Well, it's about the end of the line for me. I have a tumor in my head that is too big to do anything about. At first, my right eye was bothering me a little, and when I went to my usual doctor, he said nothing was wrong. But after another week, mom decided to get a second opinion, which started a series of visits to very nice people who poked and prodded on me but always gave me a treat at the end. I didn't mind the poking cuz I'll take any kind of attention I can get!

The worse part was, before I got the really bad news, mom had to go out of the country for work - for 1 1/2 months! She was really sad leaving because she didn't know what was wrong with me yet, but I had an idea that this might be the end and I tried to show her how much I loved her before she left. I know she loves me a lot too.

My dad's taking really good care of me and giving me all the treats I could ever want, but lately I'm not that hungry anymore. I can't really see anymore either and I've had a couple seizures. At least I don't hurt, but I know things are just going to get worse. My mom calls on the phone and tells me she loves me, but I really wish I could see her again. I'm not sure I'll still be around when she gets back. I'm trying to hang on though...
