Arrival Story:
I adopted Thelma from a shiba rescue in PA. Previously she lived on an Amish-run puppy farm, where she probably had a litter or two. The Amish breeder's kids used to feed her--she loves children as a result, and adults as well, but never had much contact with other dogs.

Bio:
Thelma is a super-sweet little girl, but she feels insecure around other dogs. We will work on building her confidence so she doesn't have to snap and snarl. Cats are not a threat, she herds them around and even protects them from the irish terrier she lives with! UPDATE: Thelma has one shiba inu friend at whom she does not growl! She is much more tolerant now with butt sniffers and smaller dogs who don't get in her face. She still dislikes big dogs, because they are harder to dominate. Thelma is ok in the dog park as long as she doesn't eat the poop.
