Bio:
On the first day we brought him home, we showed him to our neighbors, an older couple. The man's hearing wasn't so good. They asked us what our puppy's name was and my wife said in her Greek accent, "Pericles." The man asked, "Paddy Cake?" Ever since then, his nickname has been "The Cake" or just "Cake." When Pericles turned eight, he was diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma. We put him on a chemotherapy treatment protocol. they told us that if we were lucky, we might get another year or two. Well, he finished chemo after three years and lived another three after that. He subsequently had two different tumors, one near his abdomen and one in his shoulder. We had them both removed and they kept telling us that these would eventually come back and kill him. They never did. When he eventually died at 14, it was just his body shutting down. He was truly a miracle dog. We miss him every day.
