Doggie Dynamics:

Quick Bio:

January 6th 1999

Running!! Racing is one of my many hobbies...it's definitely my favorite! I also love to dress up. Really, I beg to wear stuff and help by putting my head in my clothes. Oh...and I like to be called a wiener dog. I think it's funny!

Nail clipping, rain, elevators, being picked up when I don't ask to be held.

Favorite Toy:
Flat, smooth rocks so I can play hockey with them on the carpet. I also use them to massage my back by rolling on them. I have a stuffed doggie too, that I think is my baby. I do a good job taking care of it. I even tuck it in bed with me.

Favorite Food:
Mac & Cheese! PLEEEAAASE!

Favorite Walk:
Walk? What's that? I prefer to run!

Best Tricks:
Making friends and influencing people!

Arrival Story:
A really nice family had gotten her from a pet store, but when they brought her home their big dog was picking on her so they decided to find her another good home. They were camping near my family and after some conversation about the 10 month old puppy they asked if we were interested in her...and they GAVE her to us! They mailed her papers and all her information. She was heaven sent.

Heidi is a beautiful (inside and out) Black and Tan Dapple with a dab of blue in her right eye. She's so precious...and funny! She will steal your heart in a minute flat! She's got a great sense of humor and is constantly making me laugh. Although she is a momma's girl when it comes down to it, Heidi is not a very loyal wiener...she likes to spread herself around. She once, somehow, got in the neighbors yard (she's also an escape artist and very sneaky) when she was living at another house and got chewed up by some mean dogs. She got a lot of stitches down her back. She was just trying to make friends! A couple weeks before that she had gotten hit with a golf club by accident (back swing) and was rushed to the vet. She had a "ruff" couple of weeks...but she's a survivor. I don't think she complained one time about her horrible injuries. When I got her, she came with the name Heidi, but it just wasn't enough. Roo was added 'cause she reminds me of a little Kangaroo when she sits pretty and hops around. She eats her food in order. I think she might have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but it's cute. If she is half done with her food, the food is exactly on one side of the bowl in a straight line. I will add a picture of her with her bowl of perfectly eaten food sometime. She likes to get on the table when I'm not home. I can take her anywhere with me and she will always behave perfectly. Church is one of her favorite places to go. She is also a Wiener National Champion, (yep, it's really called the "Wiener Nationals" and it's comical) running 50 yards in about 6 seconds (picture taken from Los Alamitos Race Course website). She does not run straight, and she doesn't come to me (again, not loyal) but she still makes it to the finish first!

Dear Diary,

Boy, did I have fun at the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals! I got to stay in a hotel, go to a cocktail party and got lots of gifts (a new bone shaped toy chest, collar, jewelry, treats, toys, bowls, personalized goodies, more toys, etc.)! My family got some nice stuff too and even a "My Wiener Does Tricks" shirt. The other dogs that were there were fun to hang out with, too. We got to sniff each other at the cocktail party.

I was so excited the morning of the race. When I saw the racing gate, I started telling mommy to GET ME IN THERE! I tried to get out of her arms, but she told me it would be my turn in a little while, so I calmed down a little. When it was my turn, I ran as fast as a could while talking to the other dogs (my secret strategy) and made it to the finish first! Ha ha to my mommy...I didn't even go to her. She was standing there with my favorite cheese, and I tried to steal a treat from someone else instead!

Then, we got to go on this big float and I got to wear a beautiful furry red cape! I was smiling the whole time and people were waving to me. I felt like a princess. Later, my mommy got to go the the Holiday Bowl and they put my name up on the jumbotron.

Well, it was all very exciting and I made some new friends. There were lots of nice doggies with their families there. We all had a fun time!

Grandma is going to throw me a party this weekend! I can hardly wait!

I hope everydog had a great Christmas like I did! I sure got lots of treats. I got so many mom had to vacuum seal most of them (good thing she got one of those gadgets for Christmas!). I also got some Petco gift cards. I went shopping today and got a cute new outfit and have more money to spend later...he he.

Well, not only did I have a wonderful Christmas, but I am going to be off to the Wiener Nationals in San Diego on Wednesday. I qualified for the race in July, so I've been waiting for a long time. I just love to race! I got to go last year, too! It will be me and 12 other wiener dogs from different states racing. My whole family is going. Mom, Grandma, Grandpa (he helps me get in the gate at the start) and my human cousin. My best friend Jersey is going to stay in the hotel with me, too. We are planning to wrestle all over the beds and cause wiener dog chaos! He doesn't race, but he's going to cheer me on. The race is on Thursday, but I have a cocktail party to attend on Wednesday night and we get to stay until Friday. After the race, I will be in the Big Bay Balloon Parade with Winerschnitzel (the hot dog chain). Mom will go to the Holiday Bowl game that evening and I will get to stay with a professional doggie sitter. I really like her (we had fun last year together).

Gradma says if I win she will throw me a victory party and buy me a new dress. I'll think about running straight, but it's more fun to visit with the other dogs first and then run to the finish. Mommy always tries to bribe me to come to her, but I like to make new friends at the finish (and see who has the best treats), so I don't go to her. I'll just do whatever I decide to do when I get there! A party and a dress is tempting, I have to admit. Hey ~ now that I think about it, my Barkday is the next week (1/6). I will be 7 years old. I think Grandma is trying to rip me off! I should get a new dress and a party anyway. Can't fool this wiener!

I'm going to have to negotiate this reward thing with Grandma if I win the race. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year every dog and dog lovers every where!

A Howl-O-Weener Of A Day!

My mom got me this Halloween costume that I wasn't sure I liked...a chicken! WHAT? You've gotta be cluckin' ( meaning messin' ~ just needed to clarify that one) with me! Well, as it turned out, I looked pretty darn cute. So, today I went to a weenie dog rescue picnic and when it was dress up time, I took a deep breath and put my costume on. Then I felt it...everyone was staring at me. Some people calling me a chicken, others calling me a rooster. OH NO! Oh~what am I thinking? I love attention! This is good, yes, this is good! Ah huh, this can be a very good thing. Okay, look cute. I'm cute. The judges came around and I made the best chicken noise I could. It was really a sneeze, but a funny one like my mom had never heard, so she told the judges that it was my chicken impression. Guess what? I won for the cutest costume! Ha ha ha! I won as a chicken?

After the picnic, it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see my best friend Jersey. He's a wiener too! We had fun playing. My mom took my human cousin to the store and on the way home, they saw something furry running across a busy street. It was a Cocker Spaniel. So, of course my mommy did the right thing and pulled over and ran down the street to get him. When my mom picked him up, he gave her a big lick! She said he was so sweet. He had his Humane Society tags on, but no name or home phone number. The Humane Society was closed and the neighbors didn't know who he belonged to, so he had to go spend the night at the police department. We live too far to have brought him home with us. So, the moral is...and listen up all you furry friends...always, I repeat ALWAYS carry your name and number with you! Don't worry, my mommy will call the police department tomorrow to make sure the doggie gets to his family.
