Arrival Story:
I adopted Fred from the North Texas Basset Rescue in 2001. He was the 3rd Basset the police had found on the side of the road so they named all of them Fred and He is The Third. When I met Fred I had a female basset in mind but when we met he jumped right up into my Explorer, commandered the front seat, curled up and put his head on my arm and it has been love ever since.
When he was thrown from a car, he was hit by a truck and had to have his hip replaced on X-mas eve. I also had a car accident in my past and both of us had to learn to walk again so we have that in common. He still has a great fear of large trucks but is getting better all the time.
