Arrival Story:
Henry is my mom and dad's dog. He lives in Lincolnton, NC with them, my sister and 2 cats (Fred and Dee Dee). My dad found Henry when he was just a little puppy, lost and wandering along the side of the road in a spot well known as a dumping area for unwanted dogs. He scooped him up and brought him home and the rest is history.

Bio:
Everyone loves Henry; he's a big goofy bassett with a sweet disposition and an appreciation for a good ear rub. He loves kids, tolerates cats and gets along really well with other dogs - proided, of course, they don't expect him to play-wrestle or give up his spot on the couch. He makes a terrible watchdog (deep sleeper, loud snorer) but by all accounts is a most reliable (and persistent) alarm clock (here is my LEASH, here are your SHOES, I need to go out NOW...insert wet nose poke) He doesn't mind a bath, but will NOT let you trim his nails. He doesn't play with his toys, (ever), but the minute one of my dogs gets ahold of one he suddenly CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT. Mine mine mine. Henry gets carsick but that hasn't kept him from the occasional (medicated) jaunt around town with the folks or to see grandma at the assisted living facility. He's also made a couple of trips to Asheville and even Atlanta over the years, to visit me and all my animals. Lately, Henry has been selflessly donating his body to medicine, going to (vet tech) school with my sister and enduring student administered teeth cleanings, gland expressions and nail trims like a trooper.
