Arrival Story:
She was my mothers day present in 1997. When I got her she was so small she fit in my hand, then I looked at her in the face and she growled at me. it was love at first bite. My son and hubby did not do alot of research on the breeder and Roxie was covered in fleas. I took her to the vet two days later and she had and extreme allergy to fleas which caused a lump in her throat. My vet gave us medicine and many shots but she thought Roxie was going to die. She actually told me to take her back as she didn't think she would make it. To this day 8.5 years later the vet is still amazed that she lived and has been healthy. She calls her the miracle dog. She is the only dog that survived from her litter. Her brothers and sisters have died before her.

Roxie is a German Rottie and we love her so much. She has been a wonderful family member and friend. She is very protective of us and the other dogs. She is the dog mom to Brutus and Maggie. She babies them and corrects them. And lord help anyone who would try to harm her babies. She is great with the grandbaby and watches over her to make sure no one gets out of line with her. When Brutus was getting his adult teeth in he started biting everyone and everything. He walked around going chomp, chomp, and gritting his teeth it was so annoying. Like fingers on a chalkboard, it crept up your spine. She finally had enough one day and decided it was time for her to put him in his place. He was chewing on her ears , she jumped up rolled him over and held him by his neck. Didn't bite him just held him there for a minute then let him up. Hubby and I both jumped up we had never seen this side of her. I have to say I am glad she did it because he has never bit any of us again and doesn't do that god awful noise anymore. Bless her heart. If we are outside at night she will not go in the house until the last person is on there way into the house. She sticks to us like glue. Very loving and protective. She also discusses politics with one of my friends she asked Roxie one night how George Bush was doing as president. Roxie made the most horrible noises. It was so funny. I guess she has her own opinions.

My dad fixed the fence and we can now play in the yard again without strange dogs coming in. I am so happy. I missed suntanning. I am feeling much better too, my scrates are healing up. All three of us got to lay out and eat raw ribs bones. I love them. Dogdillieicious

Got to go... It's nap time. I have to have my beauty rest.

bad bad morning

It started lastnight. My mom let me out to go to the bathroom before going to bed. There was a cat in our yard, it ran into the neighbors yard. I went after it and we had a fight. My mom and dad caming running and made me get in my own yard. I had never been in the neighbors' yard before. I realized how I got there. The neighbor had cut the chain link fence and put in a large gate with really big gaps in it. My dad said he had to work today but he would figure out a way to close it off when he got home tonight. Well this morning my mom let me and Brutus out to go to the bathroom. She went in to grab her cup of coffee. Mom always sits out with us in the morning and drinks her coffee. While she was in the house, three big dogs came into my yard. They looked like lab and german shepard mixes. They circled me. I was afraid for me and Brutus. I barked and they attacked me. My mom came running out of the house yelling with the broom. Two of them started to leave but the other one was still biting me. My mom had to take the broom and hit him several times to get him off of me. I sure am glad Brutus stayed on the porch while this was happening. They ran off thru that gate thing. Mom made us come inside. Now we can't go out and lay in the sun today. We are only allowed out on a leash for our protection. Mom called animal control. They still haven't come here.. I have a few cuts and scratches, and my eye is swollen. Mom washed them and put neosporin on them. I am pretty stiff and sore right now. I'm not used to other dogs being in our yard, or having to fight. I don't like the neighbor anymore. He is mean and stupid to have done that. My mom went to his house to talk to him about it but he didn't answer the door. Mom is super mad. I am glad Maggie was still inside when this happened, she would have ran up to them barking. They probably would have tried to kill her. She is pretty cocky around big dogs, she doesn't realize how little she is. I will be glad when my dad gets home tonight so he can fix it. We all miss playing in the yard.
